Every Destiny 2 event nowadays has eighteen or so Event Challenges that provide some choice rewards that cost nothing but your time to earn (mostly). The Festival of the Lost is no different, and while a few of the rewards aren’t much to sneeze at, others are well worth your investment. The gameplay loop is pretty fun too, if a bit more repetitive than seasonal D2 content. In this guide, we’ll list all the Festival of the Lost rewards, as well as the challenges you need to complete to get them all.
All Rewards and Challenges in Destiny 2 Festival of the Lost (2023)
There are 17 challenges available during Festival of the Lost. One of these you get for essentially no effort, the others you’ll need to try harder to complete.

- Use Manifested Pages to restore a chapter in the “Tales of the Forgotten – Vol. 3.” You’ll complete this during the Festival of the Lost opening quest.
- Reward: The Clovis Bray Mask

- Rewards: Tormentor Mask, 25 LEgendary Shards, 1 Event Ticket
Horrific Haunts
- Complete a Legend-difficulty Haunted Lost Sector

Happy Haunting Ground
- Complete 18 Haunted Lost Sectors. Higher difficulty Sectors grant additional progress (I have found this to be a lie).
- Rewards: Mara Sov mask, 1 Enhancement Core, 1 Event Ticket
Ghost Writer
- Complete all other Event Challenges this year.
- Rewards: 1 Ascendant Shard, 1 Asecndant Alloy, The Ghost Writer Title
Event Ticket Rewards
You will have noticed that Event Tickets are also part of the reward structure. These are only for those who paid 1,000 Silver (the equivalent of $10) for the upgraded Event Card. You get the following items with the pass and Tickets.
- Instant Redeem: Vampiric Pose Emote, Sugary Staple Sparrow, Roseate Gleam Shader
- 8 Event Tickets: Confection Shell
- 5 Event Tickets: Imprecise Snack Emote
- 2 Event Tickets: Sugar Rush Transmat Effect
You are, of course, under no obligation to spend real money on the upgraded Event Card, and personally, I don’t think the rewards are worth the cost. The real reward is the Lost Momento item that gives the first (almost) all-black Shader for the gun you equip it to. The guns are nice, too. I guess.
That’s it for all the Festival of the Lost rewards for 2023. For more content on Festival of the Lost and Destiny 2 in general, check out our guides on how to get more Candy, Spectral Pages, and more in our D2 guides hub.
