Diablo 4 Glyphs are used on the Paragon Board to further enhance your build. Unlocked once you reach level 50, Glyphs can be found as loot during Legion Events, completing tasks for The Whispering Tree, or making it through a nightmare dungeon. Here’s how to farm Glyphs and how to use them on the Paragon Board in D4.
How to Farm and Use Glyphs
There are a number of ways to obtain Glyphs in Diablo 4. You don’t even need to be in World Tier 3 to start getting them. However, the most efficient methods to get Glyphs are in Worlds 3 and 4. They include:
- Nightmare Dungeons
- Caches from The Whispering Tree
- World Bosses
To use Glyphs, you must unlock a Glyph node on the Paragon Board. When placed, its effects will activate, possibly effecting the nodes around it.
Farming Glyphs
Nightmare Dungeons are endgame dungeons accessed by a special Nightmare Sigil. They offer increased XP with endgame loot, including Glyphs, as well as Glyph XP. Out of all methods to get Glyphs, Nightmare Dungeons have the highest drop rate, often dropping higher level, class specific Glyphs. Along with that, defeating the dungeon boss will grant you access to the Awakened Glyphstone, the only way to level up your Glyphs.
Completing bounties for The Whispering Tree and exchanging it for a cache is another efficient way to get Glyphs. Most of the activities you need to complete for the tree are easily done while doing something else, like farming during a Helltide. Once you’ve earned 10 Grim Favor, return to the tree to select your cache. They typically contain Nightmare Sigils, as well. So you can get your Whispering Tree cache then go straight to a Nightmare Dungeon afterwards.
World Bosses are the last most efficient way to obtain Glyphs. World Bosses spawn on a set schedule about four times a day. If you can defeat the boss within 15 minutes, you’ll receive a massive chest filled with various items, including Glyphs. When you first defeat a boss for the week you’ll also receive a bonus chest. There are many reasons to face down a World Boss and obtaining Glyphs is just one of them.
How to Use Glyphs
Glyphs are a feature of the Paragon Board. Depending on how you’re filling out your board, you’ll be able to activate a Glyph node. This’ an empty node on the board where you can install a Glyph you’ve collected.
There are a variety of Glyphs with different effects. Some of them effect the nodes around them, as well. In the image above, I have Undaunted socketed with a radius of 3. On the board you’ll see this radius as the area highlighted in red. You can see the radius of a socketed Glyph by hovering over it in your Glyph inventory below. Socketed Glyphs have a red dash line around them to differentiate them.
