Diablo 4: How to Make Gold Fast

Gold is an essential commodity in Diablo 4, and fairly easy to come by. in this guide, we'll go over the best ways to farm it.

Gold is one of the universal currencies in Diablo 4. You’ll need it to buy or upgrade almost everything in the game, and while there are other ingredients and materials for improving your gear or engaging with the game’s many systems, you can’t do anything if you don’t have any gold. Thankfully, there are a few great ways to make money fast, and we’ll cover them in this guide.

Best Ways to Farm Gold in Diablo 4

There are three core ways to make gold in Diablo 4: selling gear, picking it up from enemies, and completing dungeons/cellars. Of the three, selling gear you can’t or don’t want to use will quickly become your primary source.

As you progress through the story and well into the endgame of Diablo 4, you will undoubtedly collect far more gear than you have any use for. Selling it en masse to merchants throughout the world is a quick and surefire way to get tons of gold. This becomes especially true when the only gear you care about is at least Rare (yellow) quality. At that point, any Magic (blue) or Common (white) loot you find is just money in your pocket.

One caveat: I don’t recommend selling everything you collect. Crafting and upgrading gear requires tons of materials, so you’ll want to salvage about 75% of what you collect. The last 25% can go straight into the coffers unless you think it might be useful later or want to extract its enhancement for future use.

There’s really nothing to this gold farm strategy. Kill enemies and pick up the gold they drop. As you level up, the amount of gold dropped increases, and with the volume of mobs you’ll be fighting in Diablo 4, you can easily make thousands of gold just for playing the game.

If you come across a Shrine with an image of a pile of gold above it and you’re surrounded by enemies, pick up the Shrine immediately. You’ll receive a blessing that increases the amount of gold monsters drop for about 45 seconds, providing an extra 50% income during that time.

Dungeons are a big part of any Diablo game. While most of those you find in Diablo 4 are optional, you’ll want to complete them for the class-specific upgrades many offer and open them up to being upgraded to Nightmare in the endgame. The boss at the end of each and the Elite enemies you fight are also great for loot and experience, and the gold you get along the way will be plentiful, especially from any chests you find as you explore.

Cellars are individual rooms with either a select group of mobs and an Elite or that contain a short Event, like protecting adventurers or killing specific enemies fast enough. Completing cellars awards a chest that will spit out some gold, and the monsters you kill will as well.

And those are the four best ways to farm gold in Diablo 4. Better yet, the higher your level and the more powerful your foes, the better your income will be.
