Knowing how to reset dungeons in Diablo 4 gives you something to do until the game’s Battle Pass and eventual DLC packs drop. If you’ve already been through everything, gotten all Aspects, and cleared all enemies, there’s still plenty to do in the world of Sanctuary — even if you don’t want to do the side quests (which you do, of course). Our guide tells you how to reset dungeons in Diablo 4.
How to Reset Dungeons in Diablo 4 — Explained
Whether it’s to get specific loot, earn more gold, have easier enemies to fight against, or farm a certain location, there are plenty of reasons to reset dungeons in Diablo 4. Or, you could be like me and be a little lazy (which is totally understandable) and want to reset a dungeon to play it again instead of finding another one.
Finding a good dungeon that you enjoy clearing and repeating multiple times is a fine art. If you play with others, it’s easier and faster to farm a dungeon over and over without it starting to feel stale. As a solo player, you’ll want to find the one easiest for you, one that gives you the loot you want faster.
How to Reset Diablo 4 Dungeons as a Solo Player
To reset dungeons, you’ll need to clear the dungeon first. If this is your first time playing through a dungeon, you’ll get the Aspect that goes along with it. Otherwise, you’ll get your usual loot and gold. Next, leave the dungeon through the emote wheel action or through the dungeon entrance. Don’t use the map and portal out — this won’t trigger the reset.
When back outside the dungeon, wait a couple of minutes, clear the nearby mobs, and return. When you go back into the dungeon, it should’ve reset. It’s now ready to be cleared all over again. If it’s not reset, go back outside and hang out for another couple of minutes. I found leaving the immediate area of the dungeon and then returning helped the reset along. Repeat this process for as long as you want to farm the chosen dungeon.
How to Reset Dungeons in Mulitplayer
If you’re playing in a group, congrats. Resetting Diablo 4 dungeons with a team is even easier than resetting a dungeon when playing solo. You’ll want to enter the dungeon as the Party Leader, then leave the party as soon as the dungeon is cleared. Team up again and re-enter and poof: you’ve reset the dungeon.
While this method of resetting dungeons requires a bit of communication, if you’re playing with a dedicated group of friends, it should be relatively easy. If you’ve decided to match up with others farming the dungeon, communication can be a bit harder. However, it’s the easiest method to reset and farm dungeons, and is in everyone’s best interest to follow this method.
