The Diablo 4 Omath’s Redoubt location is in the Kehjistan Region, right next to the Fields of Hatred PvP area. The easiest way to get to Omath’s Redoubt is to fast travel to the area, then head east from the waypoint. This will bring you right to the start of the Stronghold and an easy path to gain entrance.

How to Find the Omath’s Redoubt Letters

Once inside Omath’s Redoubt, you’ll find a skeletal body that has a letter when inspected. This starts the “investigation” portion of the Stronghold quest, where you’ll need to find three letters in total. Once you inspect the body, you’ll be attacked by Vengeful Spirits and Banshees. The way I proceeded into the Stronghold was down the steps on the right side of this room.

The next room has another corpse in front of a banner. This time, when you interact with the corpse, you’ll be attacked an Elite Aeran Firemaw enemy, along with Banshees and Vengeful Spirits. Defeat these enemies and head straight south to the next room.

This third letter is located near the wall and says there may have been more going on in Omath’s Redoubt than meets the eye. Some of the bodies don’t have obvious melee wounds but are dead nonetheless. It’s a real whodunit on what actually happened here. As with the two previous rooms, investigating the body triggers an attack. This time from an Elite by the name of Izett Shivermaw. Defeat it, and move on.

Where to Find the Rusted Blade

The final room to the north is reached by taking the staircase along the wall heading up. There’s no body in this room, but there’s a Rusted Blade you can inspect. Seemingly inspired by Excalibur from the Legend of King Arthur, this blade is stuck so far into the rock that no mortal could hope to remove. The Elite enemy Symme Blightcall attacks here, along with other spirits, once you’re done checking out the blade.

With the investigation nearly complete, the next objective is in the central area of the Stronghold. Don’t go straight there if you need health potions, however. Top off at one of the bowls, as going into the central room will trigger the Omath’s Redoubt boss. Undead-Slaying, Third Eye, or Acrobatics Elixirs will help in the coming battle.

When prepared, head to the central room, and interact with the Ceremonial Staff. This will trigger a flashback, closing the case on what really occurred at Omath’s Redoubt. At the end of the flashback, High Priestess Hadar will turn into the boss and attack you.

Omath’s Redoubt Stronghold Boss: How to Beat High Priestess Hadar

High Priestess Hadar is a powerful necromancer who can summon legions to her aid, as well as teleport into other areas of the Stronghold. Her main attacks are a barrage of magical projectiles that increases in damage the more that hit and the closer you are to her. I dodged around her while dealing damage from behind, constantly staying on the move.

The best time to attack High Priestess Hadar is after she teleports and starts collecting energy for a massive attack. She can teleport to any of the four areas you previously visited and back to the center room. You’ll notice red balls floating toward her new location when this happens. Dash over and deal as much damage to her in this time to cancel the ability, as well as bring her closer to defeat without launching any counterattacks. You’ll also gain some respite from any skeletons she’s summoned.

As a Barbarian without Whirlwind, I relied on my Call of the Ancients ultimate to help clear some of the skeletons she summons. Instead of dealing with the summoned mobs, I just focused on High Priestess Hadar herself. Their numbers can quickly overwhelm a single combatant, though, which is when I used Call of the Ancients to get some relief and create space to attack High Priestess Hadar.

Omath’s Redoubt Reclamation Rewards

Once you relight the Wayshrine and complete the quest to clear Omath’s Redoubt, you’ll see that not much has changed on the map. With this Stronghold being a ruin, there are no NPCs that return to the area, nor no new quests at the time of completion. You do still get:

  • Renown
  • 1 Skill Point
  • Wayshrine teleport location

You now have unfettered access to the area and can do a full sweep of any remaining summoned skeletons or wraiths hiding. You’ll also find an Altar of Lilith in the northwesternmost room, across from the newly accessible dungeon.

Omath’s Redoubt Stronghold Dungeon

Speaking of dungeons, you can find the access point is the largest change to the map. There’s only one dungeon in Omath’s Redoubt, located in the northeasternmost portion of the Stronghold.

  • Crumbling Hekma
    • Rewards the Sorcerer Legendary Aspect — Aspect of Splintering Energy: Lightning Spear has a 11% chance to spawn an additional Lightning Spear when you cast it.

That’s all you need to know about clearing the Omath’s Redoubt Stronghold in Diablo 4. Whether you’re looking to clear all the Strongholds, for specific Aspects, or just gaining experience, check out the rest of our D4 guides and walkthroughs.
