Neither the best nor the worst Glintstone Staff in Elden Ring, the Meteorite Staff is the best at casting gravity sorceries like Rock Sling, Collapsing Stars, and Meteorite, among others. It’s also a good option for casters at early levels, thanks to its S damage scaling.
The Meteorite Staff falls off later in the game as you put more points into Intelligence and specialize in different types of magic, but for low-level characters or to help with progression, there are few stronger choices. Here’s how to find it.
Meteorite Staff Location
You can get the Meteorite Staff as soon as you emerge into the Lands Between, as there’s nothing stopping you from heading east to Caelid and exploring the hellhole that is the Swamp of Aeonia.
When you actually reach the Swamp, head to the northwest portion of the scarlet rotted water, and you’ll reach a place called the Street of Sages Ruins.
In the southwestern-most portion of the Ruins is a small building surrounded and filled with small poison-spewing Miranda flowers. The Staff is on a corpse lying across the window in the ruined building.
Meteorite Staff Passive Effects and Abilities
The Meteorite Staff has no innate abilities, unique skills, or Ashes of War. You can’t even add any new Ashes of War to the Staff, nor can it be upgraded with either Smithing Stones or Somber Smithing Stones. What you see is what you get here.
The one thing this weapon is good for is Gravity Sorceries. Whenever you cast one of these purple-colored spells with the Meteorite Staff, you’ll boost its power by a whopping 30%. Spells like Rock Sling, available not far from the Staff itself, as well as any of the following spells, get the bonus:
- Gravity Well
- Collapsing Stars
- Meteorite
- Meteorite of Astel
Unfortunately, the damage bonus does not always equate to viability in all content, and at higher levels and stat lines, you are better off with another staff. Gravity Well and Collapsing Stars, for instance, do benefit, but they’re more utility-based than damage-dealing. If Gravity is your jam, though, there’s no better option than the Meteorite Staff.

That’s how you get and use the Meteorite Staff in Elden Ring. It’s not hard to find, nor is it the best all-around option, but it has its uses. We’ve covered tons of other Elden Ring content here, including how to complete Blaidd’s questline, how to get every Legendary Armament, and where to get Smithing Stones and Somber Smithing Stone Bell Bearings.
