Strings are used to hold everything together. From your Workbench to your tools and clothes, you’ll need a lot of it. However, getting your hands on a lot of it can take a long time. In this guide, I’ll tell you how to get more String fast in Enshrouded.
How to Get String Quickly in Enshrouded
In the beginning of the game, the best way to get more String fast is by collecting Plant Fiber. You can get plenty of Plant Fibers by harvesting bushes and shrubs. Where you build your first Flame Altar has a plenty of bushes for you to collect. You can craft x1 String in your inventory crafting menu for every x3 Plant Fibers.
Alternatively, you can also find String in chests, by destroying crates, sacks, and pots, or just lying around abandoned campsites. Break everything in your path to find more String.
However, if you’re well prepared with weapons and armor, there’s a better way to get String fast in Enshrouded: hunt Spiders. These creepy crawlies are found in caves. Whenever you kill a Spider, it drops x1 String (most of the time, in my experience). Unlike with other creatures, you automatically pick up drops when a Spider dies. No need to loot their corpses.
What is String Used for in Enshrouded?
String is one of the most important crafting materials when starting out. You need String to craft the Workbench and tools like the axe and Pickaxe. Although each of these don’t require a lot of String, you’ll need a lot to craft armor.
However, the most useful item you can craft with String is Bandages. I’m constantly getting hit in combat since the Parrying system is a bit tricky, so I’m always using Bandages to heal myself. I recommend farming String so you have plenty of healing items on you at all times.
