This article is over 10 years old and may contain outdated information

Here are a few items that should be your top choices when you start crafting.

Before Placing Your Claim:

Before you place your claim, you’ll want a few items to make building easier.

Grappling Hook:

This item is very useful, not to mention you can pretend to be Spiderman with it. When you see a spot on a mountainside you want to mine, note that it’s very difficult sometimes to mine on the slope. This is where a grappling hook comes in handy. Grappling to the side, above, or below the point you wish to mine will allow you to hold yourself in place instead of sliding down the mountain.

The Grappling hook is useful for building once you’ve placed your claim as well. It will put you easily within reach of the wall tops so you can continue building without wasting resources on stairs.

Recipe – Bronze Grappling Hook:

  • 20 Copper Ingots (2000 Copper Ore)
  • 10 Tin Ingots (1000 Tin Ore)
  • 10 Elemental Tin
Copper/Bronze Pick:

You’ll want to make a Copper Pick only so you can make the upgraded Bronze Pick if you’re a Founder. Otherwise the Copper Pick is a definite upgrade from the Stone Pick. The Bronze Pick is your target goal pre-claim. This will take a lot of farming so be prepared. Bronze Pick allows you to mine Iron Ore, Aquamarine, and the previous tiers.

Recipe – Copper Pick:

  • 10 Copper Ingots (1000 Copper Ore)
  • 1000 Plain Wood Logs
  • 10 Elemental Copper Ore

Recipe – Bronze Pick:

  • 8 Tin Ingots (800 Tin Ore)
  • 5 Burled Wood Planks (300 Burled wood Logs)
  • 15 Elemental Tin
  • 45 Tourmaline
  • 15 Plain Wood Planks (1500 Plain Wood Logs)
  • 1 Copper Pick

After Claiming Your Land:

Once you claim your land, your priority should be Crafting Stations. Crafting Stations are an important part of the game. Everything you need currently can only be obtained from Crafting outside of gathering the raw materials. All your Props: doors, pillows, and what not, are created through your Crafting Stations.

Forge:

Your Forge will allow you to continue to upgrade your gathering tools. This is also where you turn raw ore into ingots. Your Forge is your top priority Crafting Station due to your second priority being craftable from your Forge.

Recipe – Stone Forge:

  • 2000 Stone
  • 15 Copper Ingots (1500 Copper Ore)
  • 10 Elemental Copper Ore
Saw Table:

This is your secondary priority. A Saw Table allows you to make planks and your other crafting stations.

Recipe – Copper Reinforced Saw Table:

  • 2000 Plain Wood Logs
  • 10 Copper Ingots (1000 Copper Ore)
  • 5 Tin Ingots (500 Tin Ore)
  • 5 Elemental Copper Ore

Preference Going Forward:

After you complete these items further crafting is based on preference on what you’re looking for. Look through the craftable items and figure out what you want to build and where you’re heading then craft in that direction.
