Everspace 2: Is There New Game Plus? Answered

Does Everspace 2 have an NG+ mode after completing the campaign? Here's the answer.

Everspace 2 takes you on a wondrous journey throughout the far-flung reaches of the void. This endeavor is expected to take roughly 30 hours if you’re following the main story and up to 90 hours if you’re a completionist. However, you may be wondering if Everspace 2 has new game plus.

Does Everspace 2 Have New Game Plus?

The short answer to that is, no: Everspace 2 doesn’t have a new game plus mode after you finish the campaign. However, there are plenty of other things to do, and we’ve outlined some of the best below, so you can keep flyin’, space cowboy. You’re only getting started.

First and foremost, Everspace 2‘s story campaign is mostly linear. Through cutscenes and conversations, you’ll go from one location to the next, taking out countless hostiles throughout your journey. Once you’ve finished the campaign, instead of jumping into NG+, you’ll have access to Free-Roaming Mode instead.

Basically, you’ll still be able to visit most of the regions on the star map, including some hubs and outposts held by factions (i.e., the Flying Dutchess). This allows you to complete numerous challenges that you haven’t tackled yet.

Likewise, in lieu of NG+, you can open Ancient Rifts via Spatial Bypasses. This is the endgame activity where you have to destroy waves of enemy ships to gain rewards.

And because of the campaign’s structure, many places in the galaxy’s sectors won’t be fully explored. That means, rather than beelining from one mission objective to the next, you can take your time by checking out location challenges or distress calls, some of which might have puzzles or encounters.

In essence, it’s really up to you if you want to tackle these activities as you’re going through the campaign or leave them for later once you’re just free-roaming.

But that answers the question of whether Everspace 2 has new game plus. For more, head over to our Everspace 2 guides page
