The survivors of Evil Dead: The Game represent the playable characters on the human team. They all fall into one of four classes, and each has its own strengths and weaknesses, as well as a unique special ability.
Each class also has a unique skill tree; you can progress each survivor down their trees by upgrading their abilities and spending Spirit Points to level them up outside of battle.
How to Unlock All Survivors in Evil Dead: The Game
There are 13 Survivors you can choose to play as in Evil Dead: The Game. At the start, nine of them are available. Four are locked. To unlock the four additional survivors, you must complete the five missions that currently make up the single-player portion of the game.
We say currently because there is a slot for a sixth mission in the mission select screen that says “coming soon.” More single-player content is in store and that may or may not mean more Survivors coming as DLC.
Unlocking the characters is as easy as finding the missions. They are very straightforward but can have challenging bosses that force you to replay the entire mission, so some players might find this process frustrating if they just want to slay Deadites with friends. However, Evil Dead: The Game is very forthcoming about which missions unlock which characters, eliminating any possible confusion.
How to Unlock Ash Williams (Ash vs. the Evil Dead)
- Unlock Requirements: Complete “If You Love Someone, Set Them Free … With a Chainsaw.
- Class: Leader.
There are nearly as many versions of Ash in Evil Dead: The Game as there are Gokus in Dragon Ball FighterZ. From the start, you have access to three different Ashes, one from each film of the trilogy. To unlock the older Bruce Campbell model from the short-lived Starz show Ash vs. The Evil Dead, you must complete the first mission of the single-player mode.
The mission “If You Love Someone, Set Them Free… With a Chainsaw” is the only one unlocked at the start. In it, you play as Evil Dead 2 Ash, reenacting some of the events of the movie. In this multi-stage challenge, you must find Linda’s necklace, dig up her possessed head, and banish the demon that still possesses her.
Once you complete this 20-25 minute mission, you will unlock Ash Williams from Ash vs. The Evil Dead as a playable Survivor in multiplayer. Naturally, the grizzled veteran of zombie killing is a Leader class character.
How to Unlock Amanda Fisher
- Unlock Requirements: Complete “Kill Em All.”
- Class: Hunter.
Amanda Fisher is another character that only appears in Ash vs. The Evil Dead. You can unlock her by completing the mission “Kill Em All.”
This is the third of the five single-player missions and it requires some quick reflexes and good instincts. As Army of Darkness Ash, you must drive to three different locations in a set order and wipe out a wave of Deadites in each.
Make sure to scrounge through the barn where you get the car for plenty of ammo, amulets, and healing items so you’ll be stocked up for the entire level. Manage your resources well and you will be through this 12-minute mission in a breezy 10, unlocking Amanda Fisher as a reward. Fisher is a Hunter class character.
How to Unlock Pablo Simon Bolivar
- Unlock Requirements: Complete “It’s Not Gonna Let Us Go!”
- Class: Support.
Alongside Kelly Maxwell, Pablo Simon Bolivar is the other young hero that fights the forces of evil with Ash in the Starz show. To unlock him in Evil Dead: The Game you will need to complete the fourth mission, entitled “It’s Not Gonna Let Us Go!”
In this mission, you play as Pablo, a refreshing change of pace from the Ash-centric campaign until this point. One of the longer missions, it’s also one of the easier ones to complete. It includes multiple stealth sections as you work your way through a hoard of Deadites in order to meet up with Ash.
He waits in a getaway vehicle at the end, which you drive into the sunset to complete the mission. By doing so, you will unlock Pablo as a support character for play in Survivors vs Demon modes.
How to Unlock Lord Arthur
- Unlock Requirements: Complete “Homecoming King.”
- Class: Leader.
The final unlockable Survivor is earned by completing the final mission, or at least the one that is currently last, in the campaign. You must complete “Homecoming King” in order to play as the legendary Lord Arthur as he appears in Army of Darkness.
You play as Arthur in “Homecoming King.” Transported from his time and with a dire wish to return, Arthur must find a Kandarian Dagger to open up a time rift with the Necronomicon. Eventually, you will find Arthur’s sword and really be able to kick some Deadite butt. After you complete the mission, Arthur will be a playable character in the Leader class.
And that’s how to unlock the four other survivor characters in Evil Dead: The Game. For more Evil Dead: The Game guides and how-tos, be sure to keep it locked to our dedicated guides page.
