If you make a lot of explosives, want the best plants, or survive off chems, then you need more fertilizer than a farm. Animal poop makes the best fertilizer, so this is how to get the chicken coop for your C.A.M.P. in Fallout 76.
How to Build a Chicken Coop in Fallout 76
How to Get the Chicken Coop Plan
Before you can place your coop at your base or a workshop you’ve claimed, you’ll need to get the plan for it. Unless you were able to snag the plan on Season 1’s Scoreboard, buying a Chicken Coop plan is your only option. There are a couple places you can get it, as well as in the Atomic Shop when it’s available.
- Purchase from Samuel in Foundation for 750 Gold Bullion
- Must have a reputation of Cautious or higher with the Settlers
- Purchase from Minerva when she has it in stock
- Buy from the Atomic Shop, when available, for 500 Atoms
Those are the only ways you can get the Chicken Coop plan from NPC vendors. If you’re friends with someone or don’t mind visiting lots of C.A.M.P.s, you may be able to find a plan for sale that way.
Chicken Coop Requirements
With plan learned, you’re now able to craft the coop. It’s listed under the Resources tab in Build mode. It requires:
- Corn x2
- Wood x5
It takes up a small area, roughly the same size as a farmable dirt tile, and you can only have one in your C.A.M.P. When placed, it’ll spawn two chickens and produce a max of 33 raw fertilizer per hour. You don’t need to continuously feed the animals to have the resource generated.
If you’re playing a long session in Appalachia, however, it’s a good idea to collect the output regularly so it won’t max out on you. I know I wouldn’t want to run out of fertilizer just because I forgot to clean out the pen.
That’s how to get the Chicken Coop in Fallout 76. A valuable resource maker, you’ll need to save your Gold Bullion to purchase it. For other resource farming locations, such as razorgrain, take a gander at our extensive guide vault.
