FF7 Rebirth S-Tier Weapons

For the very best weapons in FF7 Rebirth, I chose Cloud’s Igneous Saber and Aerith’s Wizard’s Rod.

Igneous Saber

Cloud has access to not only the largest number of weapons in FF7 Rebirth but also the most powerful weapons of all. His Igneous Saber weapon has the highest physical attack power of all of his weapons, which is why I consider it the best weapon in the game. It also has a very strong Blade Burst ability, which deals non-elemental damage. This will prevent enemies with elemental resistance from avoiding damage.

The only way to get Igneous Saber is to reach the Upper Level of the Northern Ridge, Mt. Corel, in Chapter 11. There’s a purple chest on top that contains these powerful melee weapons.

Wizard’s Rod

If you prefer magic damage to physical damage, then equipping Aerith with the Wizard’s Rod would be the best option. I recommend slotting in all four elemental materias on this powerful magic weapon, including Fire & Ice and Lightning & Wind. In this way, I can easily utilize all available elemental damage and easily deal with almost all types of enemies. Of course, it’s also important to pair this weapon with an accessory that grants MP bonus, such as the Abyssal Bangle.

Just like the Igneous Saber, you can find this weapon only in the purple chest, which is located to the left of the Rest Station at the Foot Level of Mt. Corel in Chapter 11.

FF7 Rebirth A-Tier Weapons

This tier includes some very good weapons, such as Barret’s Gatling Gun, Cloud’s Sleek Saber, and Red XIII’s Renegade’s Collar.

Gatling Gun

Unlike the weapons that I mentioned above, the Gatling Gun is the default weapon for Barret, which can gain a massive advantage when used right. On its own, the Gatling Gun is a typical ranged weapon with well-rounded attributes but nothing special. However, as soon as I apply the Elemental and Lightning Materia, it becomes one of the best-ranged weapons in the game. It’s also a great stagger weapon due to its Focused Shot ability.

Sleek Saber

If you’re still at an early stage of the game and you can’t get the Igneous Saber for Cloud just yet, then I highly recommend obtaining the Sleek Saber in Chapter 2. Obviously, it’s not as powerful as the Igneous Saber, but it’s the best melee weapon for early and midgame. What I like about it is its Firebolt Blade ability, which allows me to imbue the sword with fire and lightning elemental damage during a slashing motion, even in the air.

As soon as you reach the Abandoned Docks in the Grasslands region, look out for a single purple chest that contains Sleek Saber.

Renegade’s Collar

Here’s another impressive early weapon, but this time for Red XIII. It allows me to enter the Vengeance Mode, where I can use slashing motion to enhance the power and range of my attacks. I also discovered that it performs much better with the Poison and Ice Materia later on in the game.

You can get this weapon as early as Chapter 3. During the “Escape the Depths” scenario, you’ll switch to Barret’s point of view after fighting Elena and Rude. Then, look out for a purple chest near the first Rest Station at the Mine Depths Lower Layer of the Mythril Mine on the Subterranean Terrace.

FF7 Rebirth B-Tier Weapons

Lastly, I also picked a couple of weapons that I consider not bad, including Tifa’s Kaiser Knuckles and Yuffie’s Savage Dagger.

Kaiser Knuckles

Although Tifa is one of the main characters in FF7 Rebirth, her weapons are generally on the weaker side. But if you don’t mind sacrificing the ATB charge rate for higher physical attack power, then I’d pick her Kaiser Knuckles any day. Note that this weapon also has extra materia slots, which is always a good thing.

If you reach Chapter 5, then during the “To Catch a Fiend” scenario, you can find a purple chest containing this weapon in the 1st Freight Room on Shinra-8, Cargo Deck 1F.

Savage Dagger

There are a number of cool weapons that you can get for Yuffie, but I still believe that her default starting weapon, Savage Dagger, is still the better choice. Its unique ability is quite unusual, which allows you to attack enemies even when you’re immobilized or reeling from damage. This simple trick can get you out of some really dire situations.

That’s it for my tier list of the best weapons in Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth. Stay tuned for more FF7RB tips and tricks articles, including how to find and pressure Thunderclaw, and how to beat White Terror.
