Heatstamps are always in short supply in Frostpunk 2 as you can never have enough of them. What usually happens to a lot of players (including myself) is that they develop their city in a way that isn’t conducive to profit. No biggie though, here’s how to get more Heatstamps in Frostpunk 2, the easy way.
Ways to Get Heatstamps in Frostpunk 2
“Appropriate” It From Your Population
In times of crisis, extortion gets rebranded as appropriation. If you need a large sum of Heatstamps immediately and it can’t wait, then the only way to make that kind of money is to take it from one of the factions within your populace.
The larger the group, the more money you’ll be able to squeeze out of them, but also the more issues you’ll have with them later on. If you Raise Funds with them, you should be able to get by without much issue. However, if you straight out Demand Funds from then, be prepared to face a riot.
Optimize Your Laws
If you don’t need a large sum of Heatstamps immediately, the best way to get more Heatstamps in Frostpunk 2 is to optimize your laws. The game has dozens of laws that you can research and vote on, some less contentious than others.
Generally, the best Heatstamp earning laws are the following:
- Paid Essentials – Increases your Heatstamp income by a small margin as well as overall productivity.
- Merit-based Housing – Increases your Heatstamp income by a good margin while also offering more Shelters.
- City-run Alcohol Shops – Increases your Heatstamp income by a great margin.
- Allow Productive Outsiders – Increases your Heatstamp income, population growth, and the number of active workers.
- Service Exemption – Increases your Heatstamp income slightly.
Boost Your Population Numbers
They say “More money, more problems.” That saying is quite literal in this sense. Every 1000 citizens that you acquire also increases your Heatsamp income by +1. On paper that exchange sounds great. What isn’t great is the increased demands that come with it.
Increasing your population offers the most Heatstamps, that’s a fact. The downside to this method is that that very same population needs to be fed, clothed, and occupied so that they don’t rebel. Use this method only if you have everything set up and stockpiled so that you don’t have to worry about supply issues.
Build More Industrial Districts and Goods-Producing Buildings
Goods are the only resource type that can be sold for a profit. It’s also the only resource type that can cause you a net loss in Heatstamps if it isn’t satisfied. Generally, you always want to be producing Goods, even if your stockpiles are full.
Industrial Districts, Refurbishing Factories, as well as Goods Factories, are all solid sources of Goods. A single upgraded Industrial District can easily produce upward of a 100 Goods, so make sure to invest your resources on time.
