Defeat the Iniquitous Baptist and farm the Evergloom Ring in Genshin Impact with the help of this guide.

The Iniquitous Baptist is a farmable boss in Genshin Impact. Added as part of the version 3.6 update, this buffed-up Abyss Lector uses several elements, both for offense and defense. You’ll want to know how to beat him and farm him to get the Evergloom Ring.

The Iniquitous Baptist boss can be found in the Gavireh Lajavard zone of the Sumeru region. Specifically, head to the west and an area called the Gate of Zulqarnain.

You should see a fast travel point and just beyond, there’s a tunnel that leads to the boss chamber.

The Iniquitous Baptist boss has several abilities that rely primarily on elemental damage and shielding. These include Pyro, Cryo, Hydro, and Electro. It’s imperative that you use elements that counter the active ability.

Moreover, the boss’ initial ability, Elemental Rings, creates three nodes that need to be destroyed immediately. Otherwise, they’ll cause tremendous damage. Here are the counters you need to remember:

  • Pyro Counters: Use Hydro or Electro.
  • Cryo Counters: Use Pyro or Electro.
  • Hydro Counters: Use Cryo or Dendro.
  • Electro Counters: Use Pyro, Cryo, or Dendro.

Iniquitous Baptist also has various attacks that are cast depending on its elemental shield:

Pyro Shield

  • Eruption: Red circles will appear on the ground. Each one will explode after a second. Getting hit will cause your character to slowly lose HP.
  • Fireballs: These projectiles will home in on your character.

Cryo Shield

  • Ice Shards: Creates four projectiles that will fly toward your character.
  • Ice Blast: Ice will form around the boss before exploding outward.

Hydro Shield

  • Water Scythes: Casts blades in a frontal area, followed by a cross-shaped projectile.
  • Bubble Bombs: Similar to the Fireball attack, but the projectiles are made of water.

Electro Shield

  • Teleport: Teleports away from your character.
  • Electric Orbs: Shoots three projectiles in a straight line.
  • Surging Spear: If you see a cross-shaped spell appear in the boss’ hand, it’ll throw a fast-moving spear. If you see two of these, then it’ll throw them in succession, and these will explode once they hit the ground, too.

Each time you break your Iniquitous Baptist’s shield, the boss will be stunned for a few seconds, allowing you to deal a ton of damage. Your reward will be the Evergloom Ring.

Who Can Use the Evergloom Ring?

As of now, we know that Baizhu is the only character who can use the Evergloom Ring as his ascension material. You might want to farm the Evergloom Ring in case you plan on pulling for him once his banner becomes available on May 3.

With a bit of luck, you’ll be able to defeat the Iniquitous Baptist boss in Genshin Impact to earn the Evergloom Ring item. It can be a tough fight, so hopefully, these tips help make it a bit easier. For more tricks and walkthroughs, head over to our Genshin Impact guides hub.
