Genshin Impact: How to Find and Use Plume of Purifying Light

Collect the glowing Plumes of Purifying Light in Genshin Impact with the help of this guide.

The Plume of Purifying Light is a type of collectible item in Genshin Impact,  added as part of the version 3.6 update. You’ll acquire these objects in Sumeru’s Gavireh Lajavard and Realm of Farakhert regions. Below, we’ll explain what Purifying Light is, how to use the Amrita Pool, and provide some guidance on the harder-to-find locations.

Genshin Impact Plume of Purifying Light Explained

When you start exploring the Gavireh Lajavard and Realm of Farakhert regions as part of Khvarena of Good and Evil, you’ll notice golden orbs floating in mid-air. If you look at your minimap, you’ll also see that they’re denoted by a tulip/flower icon. These are the Plumes of Purifying Light, which can only be collected by Sorush.

To grab them, switch to Sorush and have her fly near the orb, then press the interact button. This is a time trial challenge, where you have to collect other glowing fragments in mid-air.

There’s a fairly generous time limit (roughly 20 to 30 seconds), so you should be able to pick them up. You may also use Sorush’s speed burst to move around faster.

After you pick up the last fragment, you’ll also need to get the Plume of Purifying Light itself, completing the task at hand.

The Amrita Pool

So, how exactly do you use the Genshin Impact Plume of Purifying Light items? For that, you’ll have to head to the Amrita Pool in Vourukasha Oasis.

You can offer six Purifying Light at a time, netting you rewards like Sumeru materials, Primogems, and the Sumeru: Amrita name card as the main prize. Moreover, once you’ve offered at least 30 of these, the remaining Purifying Light locations will appear on your map.

Plumes of Purifying Light Locations

Many of these objects are found as you explore the overworld areas, but there are several deep in underground tunnels and caverns. As such, we recommend progressing further in the quest until you complete As the Khvarena’s Light Shows, which should make those areas accessible.

Additionally, there are a number of plumes that you won’t obtain via the regular time trial method. Instead, you have to cleanse Fravashi Trees, and some of these will also require Udumbara Pistils.

In any case, we’ve included a few maps of Sumeru’s regions to help you obtain the Plumes of Purifying Light:

Southern area: Tunigi Hollow, Gate of Zulqarnain, and Temir Mountains

Many of these objects are floating in mid-air above the sand dunes, rocky crags, and cliffsides near Tunigi Hollow and Temir Mountains. A few, however, are underground.

Northern area: Samudra Coast, Hills of Barsom, and Asipattravana Swamp

The vast majority of Purifying Light items can be found in the northern sectors of the region. Some are along the pathways that lead to the ancient ruins that you’ll visit as part of the quest chain.

Eastern area: Vourukasha Oasis

There are only a few Purifying Light items in Vourukasha Oasis. These are all above ground, spotted as you’re exploring this relatively quaint and peaceful area.
