The latest Mercenaries update removed almost 200 cars from the GTA Online roster. This means that many specialized drift vehicles have been removed from the game’s car dealerships and are a bit harder to obtain. But don’t worry, we’re here to provide you with the 10 best cars for drifting in GTA Online that are still fully available for purchase in one of the game’s auto shops.
10 Best Cars for Drifting in GTA 5 Online
- Pfister Comet S2
- Pfister Growler
- Vapid Dominator ASP
- Annis Remus
- Dinka Jester RR
- Karin Sultan RS Classic
- Obey Tailgater S
- Dinka RT3000
- Annis Euros
- Annis ZR350
Pfister Comet S2
- Price: $1,878,000
- Shop: Legendary Motorsport
Rear-wheel drive and high acceleration with a top speed of 123.00 mph (197.95 km/h) make the Pfister Comet S2 one of the best sports cars for drifting in GTA Online after the infamous Mercenaries update. There’s also a Cabrio variant, which is slightly faster but not as good for drifting as the classic model. If you don’t want to buy this car, I’d simply suggest you keep it after completing the “Planning Work: Vault Code” mission during the “Union Depository” contract.
Pfister Growler
- Price: $1,627,000
- Shop: Legendary Motorsport
The Growler belongs to the same family of cars as Pfister Comet, but it has slightly worse handling and a top speed of 121.50 mph (195.53 km/h), although all other characteristics are basically the same. But there’s one thing I really liked about the Growler: its cornering ability. It performs much better than the Comet in that regard.
Vapid Dominator ASP
- Price: $1,775,000
- Shop: Southern S.A. Super Autos
The Dominator ASP was once the best drifting car in GTA Online, but it’s been nerfed over time to be slightly less effective. It’s still a great car for drifting, but I suggest installing low grip tires and a low suspension if you want to feel what it was like to drive the original Dominator before all the nerfs.
Annis Remus
- Price: $1,370,000
- Shop: Southern S.A. Super Autos
Remus is a true drift car, but you have to be aware of your angling or you’ll spin out. The lower the angler, the better for overall grip and control. Watch your speed on turns, and either choose no spoiler or the smallest option. You can keep Remus by completing the “Planning Work: Inside Man” contract mission.
Dinka Jester RR
- Price: $1,970,000
- Shop: Legendary Motorsport
The Jester RR is much better at drifting than the Classic model. It has a higher speed and much better handling, although the increased wheel spin may be concerning to some of the players. This affects the acceleration speed, so you’ll want to be careful when accelerating from a cold start or after turns.
Karin Sultan RS Classic
- Price: $1,789,000
- Shop: Southern S.A. Super Autos
While most drift cars on our list are rear-wheeled, the Sultan RS Classic is a 4-wheel-drive car, which completely changes the balance and the way you drive it when drifting. But if you enjoy drifting downhill, this is a very strong choice thanks to its incredible handling.
Obey Tailgater S
- Price: $1,495,000
- Shop: Legendary Motorsport
The Tailgater S is a heavy car, which is great for steering but can cause some skidding on sharp turns. With careful acceleration and proper timing, your drifts could be immensely precise with this sports sedan. Note that you can purchase the Tailgater S only after you complete the “Impounded Car” mission at the Auto Shop.
Dinka RT3000
- Price: $1,715,000
- Shop: Southern S.A. Super Autos
Not many GTA Online players know that the Dinka RT3000’s secret to perfect handling is hidden in the throttle control. This system allows you to manipulate the amount of air that enters the engine by carefully speeding your car, which results in tighter control. You don’t even need to use handbrakes when drifting; that’s how good this car is.
Annis Euros
- Price: $1,800,000
- Shop: Legendary Motorsport
Annis Euros, on the other hand, benefits from using the handbrakes while drifting, as they’re responsive enough to handle almost all angles. But it has the same problems as the Tailgater S, and that’s its heavy weight that makes it oversteer if you try to turn too hard. But I still consider it one of the best cars for drifting in GTA Online, as it’s really easy to control once you adapt to it.
Annis ZR350
- Price: $1,615,000
- Shop: Legendary Motorsport
Inexperienced drifters shouldn’t touch the ZR350, as it has poor traction, making it easy to destabilize. But once you master its unpredictable driving style, you’ll be surprised at its possibilities. You might want a slightly larger spoiler on this one to help with rear downforce, as it helps prevent the rear end from kicking out when cornering.
