Wondering how many acts are in Diablo 4? It’s a question I asked myself as I made my way through the Hellscape that is Sanctuary. After the Prologue, you’re sent on your way with multiple main story quests and even more side quests and activities to take part in. During the majority of the game, you get quests from multiple Acts at the same time. Here’s how many Acts are in Diablo 4.

Diablo 4 Acts Explained
There’s a total of six Acts in Diablo 4. Each act revolves around a specific demon that Lilith is chasing as she spreads corruption across Sanctuary. We won’t spoil the ending, but you’re in for a big fight after a long adventure. Along with the six Acts, the game also has a Prologue and Epilogue, technically putting it at 8 total chapters.
All Diablo 4 Acts in Order
- Prologue: Wandering
- Act 1: A Cold and Iron Faith
- Act 2: The Knife Twists Again
- Act 3: The Making of Monsters
- Act 4: A Gathering Storm
- Act 5: Secrets Bartered, Fates Sold
- Act 6: Dance of the Makers
- Epilogue: From the Wound Spilled
Though you might expect to, you won’t play through the Diablo 4 acts in order. Instead, you can play through different Acts at the same time, as well. For example, you can speak with Donan for Act 2 while on your way to meet Lorath in Ked Bardu for Act 3. Each quest naturally scales to meet your level or just a bit more, so you don’t really have to worry about being underpowered even though you’re doing an Act 3 quest.
How Long is Diablo 4?
You may also be wondering how long it will take to make your way to and through the final Act. While your playtime depends on how many side quests you do and if you play co-op or solo, you can complete the main storyline in as little as 15 hours. On average, however, it will take approximately 30 hours to get to the Epilogue. These numbers just look at powering through the main quests, so if you take your time and fully explore an area, you could easily invest 60 or more hours into Diablo 4.
In addition to the content put forth at launch, there will be Seasons and Battle Passes, along with expansions, for D4. All of this will add more content if you’re trying to determine whether the game is worth your money. Take a look at our Seasons and Expansions guide for more information.
