The Jam Statues are a great casual place to rock out in Fortnite, but if you’re looking for the main attraction, you’ll want to make your way to Loot Island. It’s all decked out in Metallica fashion, and you can even capture it in a brand-new, fun way. Here’s how!
Fortnite Metallica Loot Island — How to Find It & Capture It
Just like usual, the Loot Island doesn’t show up in-game until you get to the endgame situation, usually around ten or so people left (depending on what mode you’re playing on). At that point, it will randomly rift in at the center of the area, wherever the storm circle has ended up. To make it easier to find it, you can follow the Loot Island icon that pops up on your screen. You can also see it on your map.
You’ll see the large rift area floating above the ground. This time, it will be like the Metallica logo. Wait for the rift to disappear and the island to spawn in. Then, you can run over to it and find a way up. There are two different ways you can usually reach the top: ziplines or rifts. The safer way to get up is to get a nearby rift on the ground below the island; this way, you can get better positioning without running into any enemies.
How to Capture Metallica Loot Island
Once you get up to the island, you’ll spot the dance floor/stage area toward the center. Just like the old Loot Island, the capture zone is highlighted by a white circle. It’s surrounding the whole stage in the center. To start capturing it, you’ll want to step inside of it.
Once you’re inside, you’ll need to hit an emote to start filling up the capture meter. Press your emote button (D-Pad down or B) and pick any of your favorite emotes. It doesn’t matter which one you’re doing, but you’ll need to continue doing it while the meter fills up.
Once the meter completely fills up, you’ll gain control of the island. It will drop some loot to claim right in the center and highlight all other items around you, including enemies. Waiting for the meter to fill is the hard part. If you’re playing with a squad, send a few players to keep watch and guard the emoting person capturing the island in the center. You’ll be defenseless while emoting, so try to stay aware of your surroundings.
It’s basically a death trap going here unless you’re sure you can defend yourself. Loot up first, and bring along some squadmates to make things easier. It will be well worth your time trying to capture, just for the loot alone. You’ll get higher rarity items, healing, and shield, and have a better chance of getting one of the Ride the Lightning items.
