How to Deal with Butler in Lethal Company

Inb4 the movie trope.

Butler is one of the new monsters (entities) you can encounter in Lethal Company’s v50 version. He is somewhat tricky to deal with, but once you learn more about him, you’ll know what to do against him. Here’s how Butler works in Lethal Company.

What Does Butler Do in Lethal Company

Butler is indeed, a creepy-looking butler, that resembles a crossover between Penguin from Batman and that Tomb Raider butler (Winston Jeeves). When you spot him for the first time, you will probably be hella scared, and depending on certain factors you will either have no reason to be afraid, or you should start running for your life.

Butler usually uses his broom to clean up the Facility/Manor you are in and he does not appear to be hostile at all. That is, if there’s multiple of you with him.

The moment you stay alone with the Butler, he will act on a movie trope, hide his broom, and take out a kitchen knife with the goal of killing you… Stabby stabby! You can take a few kitchen knife blows from him, so be careful.

How to Beat Butler in Lethal Company

Butler is probably one of the easiest monsters to beat in Lethal Company. All you have to do is use the Shovel, Stop Sign or Yield Sign on him two times, and he will explode, knocking you back, leaving just his suit and kitchen knife behind.

Wait, what’s that? What are those hornets? Well, congratulations, you’ve just completely sealed your fate. After Butler dies, you will endlessly be chased by the hornets within the Facility/Manor. These hornets cannot be stopped or killed, so it might be good to have someone on the ship to seal them behind a door.

Should You Kill the Butler in Lethal Company?

I am not entirely sure what to advise you at this point because if at least two players are with Butler, he shouldn’t turn hostile, and if you kill him, you will be haunted by enraged hornets. The best idea is to be situationally aware and gauge when the right time to kill the Butler is. Probably near the end of your run, when you have the intent to get out and leave the moon.

Butler Bestiary Entry in Lethal Company

At this moment, Butler’s Bestiary entry is empty. We’ll have to wait for Zeekerss to update this for the full version of v50.

How Good is the Kitchen Knife in Lethal Company?

When you kill the Butler, you will get ahold of his shiny Kitchen Knife. At this moment, the knife has no sell value (this could change after beta), and you can only use it to stab things. It has an insanely high attack speed, but I feel it lacks damage and didn’t have much fun with it. You can maybe use it to play an Among Us kill animation prank on your friends.
