How to Farm Gold & XP in Mordhau

Playing Mordhau can be daunting if you don’t have enough gold to buy decent weapons and gear. That is why many players try to find the best and the fastest way to farm gold and XP in the game.

As of now there are two tried-and-true ways of farming gold and XP in Mordhau. One is quite easy and is optimal for beginners, while another is really fast but also much harder.

Follow our step-by-step guide below for both of these methods.

Method 1: Horde Mode

Horde mode isn’t the fastest way to get gold and XP, but it is surely the easiest one. Here is what you need to do to be able to get the maximum at the start of the game:

1. Load Horde mode
2. Load Camp or Winter map
3. Buy a dagger or a garden hoe
4. Survive until Wave 6
5. Buy a Crossbow for 150 gold
6. Climb up the ladder of the tower
7. Kill enemies with your Crossbow unchallenged
8. Survive until Wave 22

In the end, you will get 1,600 gold and 1,300 XP. Repeat this process by restarting the game.

Method 2: Duel Mode

The Duel mode is the fastest way to farm gold and XP in Mordhau, but it is also one of the hardest.

Currently, there is no official Duel mode in the game, but you can play on community Duel servers. Here’s what you need to do:

1. Open the server browser
2. Choose any available community Duel server
3. Fight another player
   • If you win you will get 500 gold and 400 XP
   • If you lose you still get 300 gold

The duel will only take you about 5-10 minutes at max, which is a lot faster than the Horde mode. However, it is really hard to win against other players, so choose this option only if you’ve been playing the game for some time already.
