How to Get and Use Fiber in Palworld

Here are the best ways to get more Fiber in Palworld.

If you’re looking to craft Fluffy Pal Beds or make weapons, you’ll need plenty of Fiber stored away. Thankfully, there are multiple ways to collect it. Here’s how to get Fiber in Palworld.

Where to Get Fiber in Palworld

Fiber is one of the basic resources you’ll collect alongside Stone and Wood to kick off your Palworld adventure. But as you progress, you’ll find there’s more than one way to get it.

Early on, the easiest way to farm Fiber is to hit trees. You’ll do this solely with your fists at first, but soon, you’ll be able to craft a Stone Axe to speed up the process. The recipe to craft the Stone Axe only requires five Stone and five Wood. Higher-level Axes like the Metal Axe become available later once you unlock them in your Technology tab.

However, if you’re like me, you want to run around Palpagos Islands exploring and catching Pals. Chopping trees ultimately takes time away from that. As such, I’ve found the best way to get Fiber is by building a Logging Site at your base and turning Wood into Fiber with a Crusher. Both structures require 50 Wood, 20 Stone, and 10 Paldium Fragments to build.

The Logging Site is by far the best source of Wood, generating plenty of it quickly, especially if you have a high-level Lumbering Pal assigned to it. When paired with the Crusher, it also becomes the best source of Fiber. For every 1 Wood put into the Crusher, you’ll get 2 Fiber. Keep in mind that you’ll need a Base Pal with the Watering trait like Celaray or Pengullet to run it, but you can find them easily in low-level zones like the Windswept Hills and Fort Ruins.

Additionally, you can farm Fiber by defeating or capturing Pals that drop it. Hoocrates is the easiest Pal to loot Fiber from, as they’re widely available in low-level zones like the Windswept Hills, Marsh Island, Forgotten Island, and more. If you go with this method, you’ll need to hunt them at night, as they aren’t active during the day.

While materials like Pal Fluids and Leather have several Pals that drop them, Fiber doesn’t come from many Pals. Here are the three you can get it from, along with their other drops:

  • Hangyu: Fiber
  • Hangyu Cryst: Fiber and Ice Organs
  • Hoocrates: Fiber and High Grade Technical Manual

How to Use Fiber in Palworld

Fiber is used in several crafting recipes, even as you get into late-game stages. You’ll use it mainly to create Straw Pal Beds, Large Pal Beds, and Fluffy Pal Beds to keep your Pals’ SAN meter up. It’s also used in Pal Gear recipes, such as the Eikthyrdeer Saddle, which lets you ride the Pal as a mount.

When it comes to making weapons, Fiber is a main material for Bows, such as the Old Bow, Poison Bow, and Three Shot Bow. Additionally, you’ll need it to make your Grappling Gun, which is unlocked through the Ancient Technology tree.
