The heavy core is a very strong crafting material that results in a mace weapon when combined with a breeze rod in Minecraft. In this guide, I’ll show you how to get and use heavy core in Minecraft 1.21 Tricky Trials update, including a crafting recipe for mace itself.
Minecraft 1.21 Tricky Trials: How to Find Heavy Core
The heavy core can be found only inside an ominous vault of the trial chambers in Minecraft 1.21 Tricky Trials. You can unlock an ominous vault using an ominous trial key, which spawns inside the ominous trial spawner. These types of spawners appear only when you have the Trial Omen effect and approach the trial spawner during an ominous trial.
Note that omin ous trial spawners replace all regular trial spawners, as well as mobs that spawn and loot. I discovered that the Trial Omen effect is granted when a player with Bad Omen interacts with the non-ominous trial spawner. But how do you get the Bad Omen status effect? All you need to do is defeat the illager captain to get it.
You can recognize an ominous vault by its special altar of red-glazed terracotta blocks and several red candles burning on both sides, as I show in the image above. The best way to see them is to look around large hallways inside trial chambers under the ceilings. At least, that’s how I found them! Once you approach one with an ominous trial key, it may spawn a heavy core with a 7.5% chance.
But you’ll be able to unlock an ominous vault only once per trial chamber. That’s why I recommend playing in co-op mode with your friends! In this case, each one can unlock the vault and increase the chances of getting the heavy core. Note that there’s a 22.5% chance to get an enchanted golden apple from the ominous vault, which shows how rare the heavy core is.
Minecraft 1.21 Tricky Trials: How to Use Heavy Core
The heavy core is required to craft a mace weapon by combining it with a breeze rod. You must place the breeze rod in the center of the crafting table and insert your heavy core in the top slot right above the breeze rod, as I show below:
But I also noticed that it’s possible to mine a heavy core with a simple pickaxe. In that case, it won’t break into any other elements but will simply shrink in size. When you pick it up, it’ll still be counted as a heavy core on the loot table.
Additionally, I also noticed that heavy cores cannot be destroyed by the flow of lava. Instead, they effectively block it. This is just another way of using it if you already have a mace weapon.
That’s all I wanted to tell you about how to get and use the heavy core in Minecraft 1.21 Tricky Trials. Stay tuned for more MC tips and tricks articles right here.
