If you’re looking to make your home even more vibrant or give off a cottagecore vibe, what you need are flowers. Thankfully, you can plant a variety of them around your plot. This is how to get flower seeds in Palia, and how to grow those flowers.
How to Find Flower Seeds in Palia
Flower Seeds are a mechanic introduced during Early Access to boost player interactions with bug catching. To get flower seeds, you need to catch bugs. When caught, bugs will drop a seed that you can plant. Specific seeds can only be caught from a specific insect, but that insect won’t always drop them.
Auni visits your home plot to get you started finding flowers. Starting with catching Common Blue Butterflies, he wants you to grow a Gardenia from the seed they drop in the quest Suspicious Symbiosis. Completing this mission gets you x5 Renown and x40 Sticky Smoke Bombs.
With the increased benefits of capturing common insects, using a Honey Lure is now far more reasonable. While it’s an expensive item to craft, the possibility of catching rare bugs and having them drop flower seeds is worth it. I’ve already seen multiple Honey Lure parties set up throughout Kilima Valley and Bahari Bay.
Since flower seeds fall under the purview of bug hunting, Auni can also supply you with flower seeds in exchange for skill medals. There are three price points, with different plants available.
- 7 Skill Medals: Chapaatail Flower, Tiger Lily Flower
- 10 Skill Medals: Lavender Flower, Forsythia Flower, Tulip Flower, Rose Flower, Anemone Flower, Grimalkintail Flower
- 15 Skill Medals: Gardenia Flower, Blue Hydrangea Flower
How to Grow Flowers in Palia
Similar to crops, flower seeds need to be planted and watered. However, you don’t put them in a dirt patch. Instead, you can plant them anywhere on the plot where there’s open ground space. You can’t plant them on porches or in a bedroom.
Once in the ground, water them like you would crops. They take about a day to grow to the first stage. Water them again for the flowers to continue growing. Sometimes, once you’ve watered them three times, you’ll be able to collect seeds from the grown plant.
All Flowers Seeds and What Bugs Drop Them in Palia
The bugs are all common or uncommon, leaving rare and epics to only drop Silk Thread. This evens out the skill quite well. Before this, I completely ignored common bugs and only caught uncommons when I wanted to make a Buzzy Jar.
