Fields of Mistria is filled to the brim with friendly townies and charming singles to make you feel at home at your new farm. Once you get settled in, you can pick up requests from the Request Board in town to earn cash rewards, items, and renown. Celine is among the first to post a request for sod and peat — materials she needs for a potting mix. While Mistria is abundant in resources, you’ll need to do a bit of searching to get what she needs. Here’s where you can find sod and peat in Fields of Mistria.
Where to Find Peat in Fields of Mistria
You’ll find peat in the mines in Fields of Mistria. Hacking away at the boulders inside with your pickaxe will eventually give way to this material, though not as often as stone deposits, copper, or even rubies. At least, in my experience.
The good news is you don’t need to venture too deep into the system to get your hands on some peat. I managed to find some on the very first floor. However, you may need to make several trips to the mines to get what you need, as your stamina will quickly whittle with each swing of your tool. Be sure to come prepared with food items to restore health and energy during your trip.
Apart from this, peat can also be found by using your pickaxe on dig spots. You’ll find these marked areas throughout Mistria, but they’re most often found in the Narrows, specifically at the Dig Site.
Where to Find Sod in Fields of Mistria
Just like peat, sod is found while mining in Fields of Mistria. With each rock you break, there’s a chance you’ll score this material in addition to guaranteed stone or copper drops. To be clear, sod isn’t as commonplace here as it may seem, so be prepared to expend some serious stamina on your expedition.
On my own playthrough, I picked up peat relatively soon after my descent into the caverns, but sod eluded me for a quite a while longer. After a bit of searching, I finally struck the right boulder — in exactly the same location as the first item, strangely enough — and made my way back to the surface to deliver both materials to Celine. I was just one floor deep, though, so your mission may not prove as lengthy as mine with some luck.
Again, sod can also be found by mining dig spots across Mistria, among numerous artifacts and other archaeological finds. Frequent the Narrows and Eiland’s Dig Site for a chance to pocket this material.
Turning in Celine’s Request
With both peat and sod in your inventory, you can turn in the requested items to Celine the next time you see her around in Mistria. You don’t need to equip either item as you would with gifts to do this. Rather, you simply need to strike up a conversation and a quest window will provide a directive to hand over both items at once. In return, Celine will reward you with a tulip and a daffodil — great gifts for potential suitors.
Unlocking the Mines
If you’re like me, then you’ll probably accept Celine’s request prior to unlocking the mines in Fields of Mistria, causing a minor delay on your mission. In all honesty, I dawdled for a while trying to figure out when and where I could get the items she requested, checking in at Balor’s cart and the general store each day and foraging everything I could with no luck. In the meantime, Eiland and Errol asked me to reach the Stone Town Rank to unlock the mines.
By diligently completing other requests from townies, shipping goods for cash, and donating bugs, native crops, and foraged flora, I was able to reach this milestone early on. Luckily, this was exactly what I needed to do to make good on my favor to Celine. At Stone Rank, you gain access to the mines and any goods or materials you find within — including enough peat and sod for Celine’s handmade potting mix.
