There are a couple of tricks you can use to increase the FPS count in Hell Let Loose, so keep reading our quick guide below for all the necessary steps.

Step 1: Adjust Graphics Settings

You will need to adjust graphics settings more than once. But you should start from the game’s video settings menu.

Here are the optimal settings that will surely boost your FPS count:

  • Fullscreen Mode: Fullscreen
  • Resolution Scale: 100%
  • Vertical Sync: Off
  • Texture Quality: High
  • Shadow Quality: Medium
  • Anti-Aliasing Quality: Medium
  • FX Quality: Medium
  • View Distance: High
  • Foliage Quality: Medium
  • Postprocess Quality: Medium
  • SSAO: Off

If you have a high-end graphics card with at least 4GB VRAM, then you can set the Texture Quality to Epic. However, the rest should be either set to Medium of Off.

Step 2: Edit a System File

When you’re done with the video settings, you need to edit one of the system files for an even bigger FPS boost.

Since Shadow and Foliage Quality settings cannot be reduced any further from the graphics menu, you need to make sure that those are completely disabled in the game.

Follow these steps to save up even more frames:

  1. Go to “C:Users[Username]AppDataLocalHLLSavedConfigWindowsNoEditor” folder
  2. Locate and open the GameUserSettings.ini file in the notepad
  3. Set sg.ShadowQuality to 0
  4. Set sg.FoliageQuality to 0
  5. Save and close the file

Lastly, you need to protect the file from being edited:

  1. Right-click on GameUserSettings.ini
  2. Select Properties
  3. Check Read Only box
  4. Press OK
