Happiness is the most important thing in Harvest Moon Home Sweet Home. Without it, the villagers and shops won’t thrive and the village won’t grow! It is up to you to help increase the wellbeing of the entire village by helping increase the happiness level.

Happiness comes in the form of golden stars you gain by helping people, interacting with them, and completing quests and tasks. There are many ways to get Happiness, but if you want to increase it as quickly as possible we have some very helpful tips!
The main objective for any player wanting to increase the Happiness level of the village is to complete main quests. These are story quests found in your Main Menu ‘To Do’ list. Most of the time you have specific quests to complete, such as speaking with a character and helping them with a larger problem.
Occasionally, however, the main task is just to ‘Increase Happiness and Gather Info’. In this case, your main task should be to continue nurturing your farm and make sure to speak to every villager. Offer the villagers gifts – the more they enjoy the gift, the more their Happiness and Friendship will increase.
This brings us to the next main objective when trying to increase Happiness: completing villager tasks. When you speak to villagers they may ask you to bring them some produce in exchange for resources. Not only do you get your extra items, but you also get some Happiness points! The more you do for others, the more Happiness increases.
It is important to keep on top of your farm tasks as any produce you sell brings money and Happiness. Place any unwanted goods in the Shipping Bin outside your home to sell them. The next day you will get paid, plus receive your Happiness! All of these things add up, so it is worth doing a bit of everything every day if you can.
Once you wake in the morning, you will see just how much happiness has been added to the star jar. The more star jars you fill, the more lively and fun the village will become!
