Where Can You Split Stacks in Nightingale?

It didn’t take long for me to overburden my character with crafting materials in Nightingale. So, lightening my load by splitting stacks into storage or crafting stations was the first thing I tried to do. Unfortunately, the game doesn’t tell you how, and no matter how many times you shift-click or right-click a stack in your inventory, you won’t split stacks. You can only split stacks at crafting stations or storage.

How to Split Item Stacks

So, you’ll need to head to a crafting station or storage box and open the interface. Once you have your inventory and the storage open, hold down the Shift key while left-clicking and dragging the stack to your storage. A slider bar will then appear, allowing you to select the quantity and weight you want to transfer into storage. Notably, you can split the stacks when depositing or withdrawing from a crafting station or storage.

You can easily craft a storage Angling Basket from your crafting menu for x10 Plant Fibre. Plant Fibre is harvested from ground fauna such as bushes, and grasses. Notably, you can’t relocate a storage box once you place it, so be sure you’re happy with its location before unloading your stash into it.

In my opinion, splitting stacks on the go is an essential quality-of-life feature that I hope the devs implement in the future. Collecting a bunch of supplies and reaching weight encumbrance is already a bummer on its own. To then have to drop an entire stack of supplies or teleport back to your Respite for storage is an unnecessary burden.
