If you’ve been spending hours and hours playing Wuthering Waves since its release like I have, then you know that exploration is a grind. Seeking out the loot chests and sonance caskets can feel like a headache with the in-game map. Thankfully, Embarrassed-Notice32 on Reddit has created an interactive map with real-time tracking.
How to Install the Wuthering Waves Interactive Map
The new Real-Time Interactive Map is a downloadable program released in Overwolf’s mod software. The software works so that you can see where you are on the map in relation to loot — basically, a total dream come true for any WuWa player. You can even check off the loot you’ve already discovered, making getting 100% exploration more accessible for all players. You can download the Wuthering Waves Map on the Overwold Appstore. You’ll need to download the Overwolf program, too.
The map works as a separate program rather than modifying WuWa itself. So, you’ll need to keep Overwolf open on a different monitor or on another device like a smartphone to use the map. Of course, you’ll have to run the program at your own risk. Additionally, you’ll need to run the Overwolf program as an administrator to get the map to work. Otherwise, you’ll be met with a roadblock upon launch. Head to Properties > Compatibility > Run as Administrator.
Embarrassed-Notice32 has even stated that they plan to implement automatic syncing with your game’s progress into the program. This means that your discovered items will already be checked off from Overwof. It doesn’t get much better than that.
It’s important to note that this is a community-made mod that isn’t sponsored or connected to the Kuro development team, so it has an added risk of violating user guidelines. However, I’ve used it without any errors or issues for the time being.
