Why You Can’t See Friends in Once Human

Everything's set, you hop on Discord, the servers are up, you get in game... and no one's there. Why is that?

There are many things that Once Human does right. However, the few things it does wrong, it really does wrong! One of those things is matchmaking, which is left for the player to discover on their own. One such issue that players are having is not being able to see their friends in Once Human. Here’s how to get around that.

The Reason Why You Can’t See Your Friends in Once Human

The reason why you can’t see your friends is because they’re in a different world. And if you can’t find them at all, then they’re probably on a different server entirely. Once Human runs on two servers. The first one is called Manibus and is a PvE server. The second one is called Evolution’s Call and is a PvE server. Both of these have dozens of sub-servers within them.

If you’re planning on playing with your friends, make sure that every one of you makes a character on the same server and sub-server. Once you get into the game and pass the tutorial, you’ll be dropped into the actual game world. You probably won’t be able to find each other initially, but there’s a fix to that, too.

Go to the Nearest Teleportation Tower

When you join a specific sub-server, you can add anyone that’s currently on that server and form a group with them. They’ll appear as a number on the map but won’t necessarily appear at the physical location that that number is denoting. The reason for that is worlds.

Each sub-server has about a dozen worlds each. When you make a new character, the game automatically drops you in the least crowded world. To find your friends, you have to go to the nearest teleportation tower and migrate to the world they’re currently in (which can be seen In the upper right corner).

Luckily, there’s a teleportation tower to the right of where you initially spawn in Dayton Wetlands. Simply glide down towards it using V, and you should be able to transfer to your friend’s world with no problem.

If you’re experiencing any other hurdles in the game, don’t worry! Just visit our Once Human guides hub, and you’ll likely find a solution to your woes right away.
