If you haven’t taken the plunge yet, it’s not entirely obvious what sort of shooter the game is. In this guide we’ll go over if The Finals is a battle royale, because that may or may not be your kind of thing.
Is The Finals a Battle Royale Game?
Battle Royales are among the most popular games today. I mean, who doesn’t want the chance to show they’re number one? The Finals has proven to remain popular into launch, so whether or not it is a battle royale is a question worth answering. At this time, no, The Finals isn’t a battle royale.
Whether or not the developers over at Embark Studios decide to add a battle royale mode is up in the air. The game is still in development, so there’s a possibility they’ll implement it in the future. However, I wouldn’t be surprised if they opt out of the BR genre to remain unique and set themselves apart from other free-to-play, first-person shooters.
All Game Modes in The Finals
Since there isn’t a battle royale mode, you’re probably wondering what The Finals gameplay looks like. There are currently three game modes in the game. As we mentioned above, there’s a chance they’ll add more in the future. Here are the game modes you can expect:
- Cashout
- Includes Ranked and Unranked matches. Features 3v3v3v3 combat where teams compete to find cashboxes and deposit them to vaults throughout the map.
- Quick Cash
- A casual take on Cashout featuring 3v3v3 combat. There is only one vault on the map at any given time, and respawn time and extraction take less time.
- Bank It
- A casual 3v3v3v3 combat where teams compete to collect the most coins possible. The team to reach the coin goal first, or to have the most coins by the end of the match wins.
That answers whether The Finals is a battle royale. We’ve got more answers at our growing guides hub.
