Lethal Company: Bunker Spider Survival Guide

The Bunker Spider isn't as bad as it looks, but you'll want to deal with it properly to avoid unnecessary crew deaths.

There’s a whole list of monsters to watch out for while you and your crew collect scrap, one of which is a spider. In this guide, I’ll go over how to survive and beat the Bunker Spider in Lethal Company.

How to Survive and Beat the Bunker Spider in Lethal Company

Most of the creatures you run into inside the Company’s facilities don’t inspire the same sort of primal fear as the game’s Bunker Spider. Spiders are scary enough as it is, but giant spiders that chase you through dark hallways while your crewmates scream bloody murder? Even worse!

The Bunker Spider is about right in the middle of difficulty among Lethal Company creatures, meaning it’s not as deadly as the Bracken, but it’s not as harmless as the Spore Lizard, either. As long as you try to mind your business and someone on your crew has a weapon, you should be fine when one of these is in the facility.

How to Survive the Bunker Spider

This particular enemy is more territorial than most, though its territory is essentially its nesting area. It’s not just protective in this sense, though. It also just doesn’t like you getting near it. When the Bunker Spider first spawns, it makes a nest and places webs surrounding the area. You can’t really do anything with the nest; all you can do is try to avoid this creature or kill it.

When left to its own devices, the Bunker Spider will mostly hang out on the wall and mind its own business. If you don’t approach it or get too close, it probably won’t aggro to you. It’s when it comes down from the wall — usually after being disturbed — that it wanders along the floor looking for prey. Sometimes, it just wanders of its own accord, though. Still, it won’t bother you unless you get too close.

The Bunker Spider’s webs are what makes it unique, and they do serve a function. If you touch a web, the spider will be alerted to your location and make a beeline toward it. Luckily, webs can be dispersed by hitting them with a weapon. Hitting it will still alert the Bunker Spider, but it at least won’t be a further problem.

Can You Kill the Bunker Spider?

The best way to survive this monster is to kill the Bunker Spider using a Shovel or one of the signs, and there are two typical ways to go about it. You can either:

  1. Hop up onto a railing, crouch, and beat the Bunker Spider to death.
  2. Hit the monster while holding the Shift key to run backward.

The second option is far riskier than the first, but it’s very possible to do it without dying or even taking much damage. It might take practice to pull it off reliably. The Bunker Spider isn’t as fast or as vicious as the Thumper, so hitting it while running backward is a viable option.
