If you want to fight like Durin, you’ll need his armor set to keep you well protected, and making it isn’t easy. In this guide, we’ll go into how to find Star-metal in Lord of the Rings: Return to Moria.
How to Get Star-metal in Return to Moria
Much like Sun-stone, Star-metal is a rarer resource required to craft Durin’s Guard Armor set. It isn’t available until late game, I didn’t even get a glimpse of it till after you repair Durin’s Axe. This let me continue to the Crossroads, which were previously blocked off by Shadow Runes.
Once you make it to the official Crossroads of Zirakzigil, you’ll start seeing Adamant veins with deposits of a blue/purple/gray metal. This is Star-metal. You’ll also start finding the large rocks with Star-metal deposits appear as you explore further. This is especially true when you get into the area of Caradhras, where there are multi-tiered areas filled with steam vents. While dangerous, it’s also the best place to get large amounts of Star-metal.
You can also acquire Star-metal Ingots, as well as ore, from Orkish Chests. The Warchief at the Well of Shadows drops both items when defeated. While it can be a difficult fight, I did it with only two pieces of Durin’s armor equipped, as well as the Mithril spear.
