As you go through the missions in Mafia 3, you will have an important job of assigning districts you’ve taken under control to one of your three underbosses. (If you haven’t checked our guide for Cassandra, then here it is.)
This guide will focus on Vito Scaletta, the returning character from Mafia 2. This time he is not the main character — but his role is still quite big, as he portrays one of the main partners of Lincoln Clay.
“We talk about making money, but what it comes down to is respect.”
— Vito Scaletta
After the events of Mafia 2, Vito had been given the River Row district by Sal Marcano, who later betrayed Vito and thus forced him to partner up with Clay in his revenge to kill Marcano’s family. More than that, Lincoln literally saved Vito’s life, so he owes him a lot.
Here are the districts in Mafia 3 that will fit Vito the most:
River Row
This is an obvious choice for Vito, who knows the area in and out. He used it for gun and drug trafficking while working for Marcano, so he basically knows every rat in the hood. There he owns the “Benny’s Ristorante” restaurant and the Ragolet’s “Canning Company.”
Southdowns
Southdowns always strongly relied on mafia activity in the region, and there is nobody who knows the mafia business better than Vito. He will be perfect for taking control over all the gambling and underground fighting clubs.
Downtown
The white collar area of New Bordeaux, where all the construction takes place and, of course, bribery. Vito is the man for this kind of job, who knows all the right people in the higher echelons of society, and he has their trust and respect.
As you see, Vito is a true businessman and he must be positioned in such a way that would fit his style of management. He can be rough just like any other boss, but it is better to give him something that can be handled without too much violence.
