Maleficent: Free Fall is a jewel puzzle game very similar to Frozen Free Fall. Players have to match 3 or more gems in order to reach end board goals to pass to the next level.

1. Choose the Gem Showing the Most

With Maleficent’s magic, players are able to make gems of the same color all over the board disappear. To take advantage of this ability, the best idea is to choose the gem that shows up the most in the grid. By doing this, players up their chances to create chains and raise their score quickly.

2. Bottoms Up

As with all puzzle games in this genre, such as Bejeweled and Candy Crush Saga, choosing gem switches is best done from bottom first. By choosing from the bottom, there are more gems to slide down to create chain effects that can raise scores.

3. Aim for 4 or More

Matches must be formed in threes to count. While this method works, it is possibly slow. Try to create chains of gems that are four or more. Four and up gives gems special abilities that players can use to quickly raise their score. These abilities are:

  • Match 4: Destroy all crystals in a line
  • Joined matches of 3 all same color: Destroy crystals in a 3×3 grid
  • Match 5: Creates crystal that will destroy all colored gems of another when swapped.
4. Conserve Power-ups

While it is tempting to use a power-up to pass a board, be mindful that they are limited. Extra power-ups can be gained but they can also be bought, so replacing them are costly. Plus, there is no guarantee that you will pass the board. So use them when you are close to certain you can but need a little extra time or score.
