Pokemon GO: How to Catch Shiny Krabby

The Water Festival Beach Week is the perfect time to catch a Shiny Krabby in Pokemon GO. Here's how.

Krabby is one of the original 151 Pokemon, the very first crab Pokemon to be caught in a Poke Ball. Now, many generations later in Pokemon GO, you can catch a Shiny Krabby during the Water Festival Beach Week event. Here’s what you need to know if you’re after the little crustacean.

How to Catch a Shiny Krabby in Pokemon GO

Like most regular, common wild Pokemon, Shiny Krabby have a 1 in 500 spawn rate. However, with the Water Festival Beach Week event, Krabby has an increased spawn rate, meaning you’ll have more chances of encountering a Shiny Krabby.

Unless you normally live near a water source, like a beach or lake, you’ll have a difficult time finding Krabby when Beach Week ends on June 12 at 8 p.m. Then, Krabby spawn rates will return to normal.

Here’s how to further increase your chances during the Beach Week event:

  • Use Rainy Lure Modules to try and catch Krabby. These lasts 4x as long as regular lures. Doing so increases the attraction rate of Water-type Pokemon near a Pokestop or Gym.
  • It’s also a good time to use any incense you have saved up.
  • Make sure to use your free Daily Adventure Incense, as you may just need that 15 minutes to find yourself a Shiny Krabby.

That’s all you need to know if you want to catch a Shiny Krabby in Pokemon GO. Take advantage of the Water Festival Beach Week event and hope for some luck as you encounter the original crab Pokemon.
