Wear a specific ring to get a secret accessory in Remnant 2: The Awakened King.

How to Get the Burden of the Departed in Remnant 2: The Awakened King

You can get the Burden of the Departed in Remnant 2: The Awakened King by defeating the One True King (i.e. the DLC’s final boss) while you have the Burden of the Divine equipped. That sounds simple and straightforward, right? Well, that’s not the case since you do need to find the required item first.

Where to Find the Burden of the Divine

The Burden of the Divine in Remnant 2 is found in sewer-type dungeons in the Losomn region. This applies to locations from the base game and those added via the DLC. Here are some examples:

  • The Great Sewers (base game)
  • Tiller’s Rest (base game)
  • Harvester’s Reach (base game)
  • Forgotten Commune (The Awakened King DLC)

I suggest checking out these dungeons in case you spot breakable obstacles that lead to a cistern. You should see slime mobs off to the side, while the Burden of the Divine item should appear on one of the ledges. Try to jump across the gaps properly, since falling down leads to your doom.

As an aside, I got the Burden of the Divine from Harvester’s Reach, well before the DLC came out. In fact, it’s also close to the same area where I obtained the Meridian weapon. For those who are new to the game and own the DLC, I advise you to keep your eyes peeled in case you enter the Forgotten Commune. It’s possible to grab the Burden of the Divine and Meridian if the secret cistern does spawn, as well as tackle the Befouled Altar event to receive the Ritualist Scythe.

In any case, the Burden of the Divine is a ring with the following effects: All damage you deal is reduced by 10%; 50% of the healing you do also applies to allies. The effects themselves aren’t particularly important, since we only need this to get the Burden of the Departed in The Awakened King.

Burden of the Departed Effects

As mentioned earlier, you need to have the Burden of the Divine equipped when you decide to battle the One True King. The mad monarch himself will also remark about the accessory that you’re wearing, and he’ll be quite angry. Once you’ve beaten him, you’ll see the Burden of the Departed appear as part of the loot rewards. The ring itself has the following effects: Reduces total relic charges by 33%, but increases all damage you deal by 10%.

That’s everything you need to know about how to get the Burden of the Departed in Remnant 2: The Awakened King. Since you’re already keen on taking out the final boss of the DLC, you might be wondering how to get the true ending and the Crimson Guard armor set.
