Preparing for Capacity Compliance

Before you start with the Resident Evil 4 Remake Capacity Compliance challenge for the achievement and trophy, you’ll want to be well-prepared. Ideally, you should clear the Clock Tower’s main area first. This includes taking out cultists, avoiding the fire-breathing Salazar statue, and dropping a spiked ball that will roll over the remaining hostiles.

Once you’ve picked up all the loot, don’t interact with the lever on the lift just yet. Instead, you’ll want to go back to the Merchant hub in the previous area by riding the Gondola.

You’ll need to bring a sidearm (e.g. Red9 or any magnum), shotgun (e.g. Striker), and an automatic weapon (e.g. CQBR Assault Rifle or the TMP).

It’s imperative you keep a manual save here. This allows you to reload in case you fail the challenge. Likewise, riding the lift is a point of no return, preventing you from backtracking to previous areas of the Castle (in case you need to pick up other stuff).

Riding the Lift to the Top of the Clock Tower

Once you pull the lever to ride the lift, it’s time to start the RE 4 Remake Capacity Compliance challenge for the achievement and trophy. You’ll have to deal with:

  • Ganado Shaman
  • Cultists
  • Explosive barrels

A Ganado Shaman will appear, which you can quickly kill if you have enough rifle ammo to spare. Otherwise, you’ll have to cancel his chanting to prevent tentacle parasites from emerging from cultist heads, making them harder to kill.

From there, pay attention to crossbowmen and explosive barrels. The former will annoy you by peppering you with bolts and ruining your aim. The latter, meanwhile, can be used to blow up cultists that are packed close to each other. You’ll want to wait until the last moment before they jump to maximize the number of casualties.

Halfway through the elevator ride in Capacity Compliance, you’ll notice some enemies will jump down on the lift directly. This is where your shotgun comes in handy; blast them immediately for a quick kill. Another Shaman may also show up, which means relying on your automatic weapon.

Lastly, there will be additional hostiles that will climb structures before jumping down. You can shoot them as they’re climbing to prevent them from reaching you. Once you get to the top, wait for a couple of seconds to see if a couple of enemies are still on the move, and take them out if necessary.

With a bit of luck, you should be able to complete the Resident Evil 4 Remake Capacity Compliance challenge for the achievement or trophy. Upon reaching your destination, make sure you pause the game and check the Challenges Menu to see if you were able to unlock it. For more, head over to our RE4 guides hub.
