Sonic Frontiers: How to Complete the Four Towers on Ares Island

The Four Towers is seemingly one of the tougher minigame quests in Sonic Frontiers, but as soon as you know the trick it instantly becomes a cakewalk.

Sonic Frontiers puts a new spin on the legendary series, giving players a set of massive islands to roam around and explore at their leisure. It’s the closest the Sonic series has ever been to an open-world design, but there’s still a main narrative and set of missions linking all of the exploration together.

As Sonic explores each island, he’ll occasionally need to complete a little minigame or quest given by one of his friends. The trickiest of these is the “Best Defense” quest found on Ares Island, but we’re here to help walk you through the trick.

The Four Towers Best Defense Trick

Up until this point, every tower you’ve faced has to be defeated by knocking out its pieces until you can attack the head. That might seem like what you need to do for the Four Towers at first, but you’ll never complete the quest in time that way.

These towers attack a little differently; when you get close, they’ll jump into the air and slam down, setting off a shockwave of spikes. What you need to do is jump over the spikes, then wall run up the side of the tower while the spikes sit at the bottom. You’ll usually have about 10-20 seconds to do this.

Once you’re at the top, simply jump and perform a stomp attack, and you’ll instantly take out the tower in one hit. All you need to do is repeat the process three more times, and you should complete the quest with plenty of time to spare. With the Four Towers down, you should have everything you need to continue in your exploration of Ares Island.
