Although rudimentary, Space Marine 2’s resources system can be unreasonably confusing. This stems from the fact that the game does a very poor job of explaining how the system actually works, which just causes confusion in the long run. No more! Here’s everything you need to know about all Space Marine 2 resources.
Every Type of Resource in Space Marine 2
Space Marine 2 has three types of resources: requisition, armory data, and mastery points. Here’s how they work.
How to Get Requisition In Space Marine 2
Requisition is the basic resource of Space Marine 2. It’s used for purchasing practically everything from new weapons to new perks and even chapter colors. Understandably then it’s also the most coveted resource in the game.
In principle, acquiring Requisition is easy. All you have to do is successfully complete a mission and you’ll be rewarded with Requisition relative to the difficulty of the mission. Therein lies the catch though. Requisition is only awarded for successfully completed missions. If you fail the mission, even by a single objective, you won’t be rewarded any Requisition points.
How to Get Mastery Points in Space Marine 2
Mastery Points are essential for upgrading weapons, and just like Requisition, they’re in constant demand. They’re also the most frustrating resource to get because of how their system works. Mastery Points are rewarded per enemy kill, the quality of the kill doesn’t matter as much as the quantity, so if you want to level up a specific gun fast, prioritize hordes rather than single targets.
Now, the thing that the game doesn’t tell you about Mastery Points is that it wants you to unlock every weapon of a specific type at a specific tier to progress its mastery. In other words. If you want to unlock the Artificer tier for a specific weapon, you’ll have to buy and use every weapon in the previous tier of that type to do so.
How to Get Armory Data in Space Marine 2
Armory Data are the three blocky icons next to the Requisition counter. Armory Data is used to unlock subsequent weapon tiers. All three Armory Data tiers effectively function the same, acquiring them is slightly different though.
Master-Crafted Data is acquired by completing Minimal and Average difficulty missions. Artificer Data is collected by completing Substantial threat missions and Relic Data is collected by completing Ruthless threat missions.
There’s also one more source for Armory Data and that’s bosses. Bosses offer guaranteed Armory Data, however, their spawn isn’t guaranteed. Higher-threat missions have a higher boss spawn change, meaning you’ll collect more Armory Data from them, but the chances of extracting successfully are also lower on higher-difficulty missions.
That’s all there is to Space Marine 2’s resource system. If you have any other issues with the game, make sure to check out our Space Marine 2 guides hub for the solutions.
