Splitgate players have been reporting multiple cases of crossplay voice chat not working that has been plaguing the game since its console launch. Fortunately the developer is well aware of this problem and is currently working to solve it with the next patch, but for now players need to find an alternative solution.
Our guide will provide you with the crossplay voice chat not working fix in Splitgate. This method involves players turning on and off certain settings during the gameplay that will be covered in the guide below.
The reason behind the crossplay voice chat not working is hidden in the netcode, which can be temporarily influenced by adjusting your game settings.
Here’s what you need to do in order to make the crossplay voice chat work in Splitgate:
- Go to Splitgate main menu
- Select “Settings” option
- Go to “Privacy” tab
- Uncheck the “Party Chat Only” feature
- Go to “Audio” tab
- Uncheck the “Open Mic (Team Only)” feature
- Uncheck the “Proximity Chat Enabled” feature
Once you’ve done these changes, you can start the crossplay match with your friends. When you’re in the match, go back to the game’s main menu and restore the settings:
- Check back the “Party Chat Only” feature
- Check back the “Open Mic (Team Only)” feature
- Check back the “Proximity Chat Enabled” feature
Now, when you go back to the match, you should be able to hear your friends on the voice chat and they should be able to hear you, too.
This solution only works for one or two matches, and then you have to repeat this process over again. But before the official patch arrives this is the only real fix of the problem, unless you want to use Discord chat during the gameplay.
That’s everything you need to know on how to fix the crossplay voice chat not working in Splitgate. Also, be sure to check out other Splitgate guides for more tips and tricks.
