You get Vex Milk from defeating Vex enemies. Yes, it’s that simple. Or it would be if you couldn’t also get other Dawning 2023 ingredients by defeating Vex. As an enemy material, Vex Milk is just one of dozens of possible ingredients you can get.

The majority of them come from defeating enemies with specific weapons or abilities. Worse, you only get a single ingredient per enemy defeated, so there’s no guarantee you’ll get the tons of Vex Milk you need to bake tons of tasty cookies and treats like Forest Cakes, Ribbon Cookies, and Telemetry Tapioca.

That said, the best, fastest, and easiest way to farm Vex Milk is to repeat The Orrery Lost Sector on Nessus. There are about 50 Vex enemies in each instance of the Lost Sector. Once you clear out all of them, you can simply fast travel to the Artifact’s Edge landing zone and enter the Sector again with a fresh batch of Vex to defeat.

While farming Vex Milk, I found that I could completely clear The Orrery in a little under a minute using very non-optimal tactics. Depending on my luck, I would get 2-4 units of Vex Milk per run. If you get lucky, you could end up with significantly more. The opposite is also true. That’s the nature of The Dawning in 2023 and virtually every other year.

The upside is you can farm all of the blue ability ingredients while you’re at it, as those are enemy-agnostic. In other words: the blue ingredients drop from any enemy type so long as you meet their requirements. And with The Orrery having such high enemy density, you can easily get dozens of ingredients on top of the Vex Milk you’re already farming for.

That’s how to get Vex Milk easily in The Dawning 2023 Christmas event. For more tips and tricks, check out our guides on baking cookies during The Dawning, as well as where to find Eva’s Oven if you’re having trouble locating it. We have even more in our D2 guides hub.
