With Helldivers 2 out and going strong after its launch, players are wondering about the future of the game. What does Sony have planned for updates, patches, and new content throughout 2024 and beyond? Here’s what we know so far about the complete Helldivers 2 roadmap.

What’s in the Complete Helldivers 2 Roadmap?

Most of the discussion and interaction with the developers of Helldivers 2 has been happening on the HD2 official Discord server. Here, players can ask the devs about their issues and the team’s plans for the game. Specifically, while I was playing the game a few days ago, I asked about the roadmap along with numerous other people.

Developers Arrowhead Game Studios responded to one member, saying that the future content roadmap is largely being discussed right now, and they’re working on it. Regarding another question, the developers responded that it’s coming in the future — after some stability fixes and patches.

What Parts of Helldivers 2 is Arrowhead Focusing on Before Releasing the Game’s Roadmap?

Arrowhead is looking to address server capacity, crashes, and bug fixes before they announce anything for the roadmap. That said, I scavenged for some content questions about the future of Helldivers 2 and found miscellaneous bits and pieces about future content confirmed by Arrowhead. Mainly, the Helldivers 2 roadmap will include routine updates containing:

  • New biomes.
  • New weapons.
  • New gear.
  • New stratagems.
  • New enemies.

It was confirmed that every Helldivers 2 update will be free, so make sure to check for patches regularly. They said that new content updates are already coming this year. However, there’s no specific release date. I highly recommend you stay tuned to the official Discord server, specifically the “hd2-announcements” and general chat channels. Simply searching keywords in the general chats might yield some answers to your questions.
