Things to do during Final Fantasy XIV’s Phase 4 Beta.

The Beta Phase 4 is fast approaching. Here are a few things to work towards in the final Beta test.
This article is over 11 years old and may contain outdated information

As we now know, Final Fantasy XIV’s Beta Phase 4 is nearly upon us. For previous Beta testers it starts on the 16th, which is Friday, and for new participants it starts on the 17th.

Primary Focus

First of all, the level cap will be 20, so maxing out your primary focus class to 20 will be a good head start. Remember, crafters and gatherers will need to hit 10 on a battle class and do the level 10 guild quest before you can get to a craft or gathering class. You will also want to advance your story quest to the point where you unlock Levequests, so when the servers go down you can start building up allowances.

If you successfully make it to 20 on a battle craft, make sure you catch up your story quest so you can choose your Grand Company. Grand Companies grant you rewards for the seals you start earning from FATEs after you join. The most important item you’ll want to get is your Chocobo Permit so you can get your first Chocobo. Everyone loves having Chocobos, so don’t forget to get this done.

Additional Recommendations

Once you get the above done, I recommend just running around and unlocking the other classes so you can play around with them. Also, start stocking up on material items. I recommend you get your retainers and fill their bags with crafting materials. You’ll need them if you intend to craft at all in the game.

Other than that, just explore, and have some fun. There is a lot to do in the game, I just covered key focuses that you’ll want to get done ASAP, anyways. If you have any questions, comments, concerns, etc, please leave them in the comments below! Thanks for reading.
