Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands: How to Beat Zomboss

Here's how to beat Zomboss for easy farm in Tiny Tina's Wonderlands.

You’ll have to beat Zomboss relatively early in Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands. She’s not as difficult as Banshee, but she can take you out if you’re not careful. If you beat Zomboss, you’ll be granted a Legendary Ward called Undead Pact that works great with Poison builds and those that require your Ward to break.

Here’s how to deal with her attacks and beat Zomboss into submission. She’ll be back. She’s a zombie. Boss. It’s the in the name.

How to Beat Zomboss in Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands

Like most early bosses in Wonderlands, Zomboss only has three attacks. The attacks themselves are very straightforward, but they each hit like two separate trucks. You’re going to have to deal with it to beat Zomboss.

Attack 1: Rushdown Slash

The simplest attack in Zomboss’s arsenal, she rushes forward and slashes her sword in your face. Avoiding it is like avoiding any melee attack in Wonderlands: back up.

If you’re running Brr-Zerker and you need to stay close, circle-strafe to either side and behind her while blasting her with whatever you’ve got equipped. This attack doesn’t deal the most damage, but you will be sitting in Save Your Soul if it catches you without a Ward.

Attack 2: Purple Energy Ball

Zomboss stops moving and gathers energy in her left hand for a moment, then throws it at you. It doesn’t seem like this attack has much of an AOE, but it has one and it’s far larger than the visuals would make you believe. It also deals an excessive amount of damage for how small the energy ball is.

Zomboss is even liable to fire off this attack at close-mid range. If she uses her Vortex Slash (described below) after the energy ball, don’t back up in a panic. You could get caught by the energy’s lingering damage.

Attack 3: Vortex Slash

This close-to-mid-range sees Zomboss summon a large, bright blue vortex in front of her, pulling you in. After about a three-second pull, she slashes you across the chest. It’s tough to get out of this attack once it starts, and the best way is not to be caught at all.

Since Zomboss is a rushdown boss, she’s liable to be in your face when she uses the vortex. If you have a movement ability or a way to mitigate damage and this attack catches you, that’s an easy way to get out. You can also move to either side as before she swings. If you realize you’re caught quick enough, you can avoid the swing entirely.

Those are the three attacks you’ll have to struggle with in trying to beat Zomboss. They may not seem like much, but when she mixes them up and is constantly in your face with them, swapping between each, in turn, things can get hairy fast.

As with most undead enemies, she’s particularly vulnerable to Cryo damage, which means Liquid Cooling will make short work of her and you’ll beat Zomboss in no time.

With all this in mind, you should be able to beat Zomboss with minimal trouble. Check out our other Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands guides for help with further bosses and mechanics.
