Titanfall Guide: Longbow-DMR Sniper Attachments, Mods, and Challenges

Want to use the Longbow-DMR Sniper? Then, check out this detailed guide to learn everything about it!
This article is over 10 years old and may contain outdated information

The Longbow-DMR Sniper in Titanfall, semi automatic, is a great weapon. I prefer it over the last one, and it's useful in a variety of game modes. It is also useful at several ranges because of the different scopes you can choose from.

Titanfall is a fast-paced game with Titans coming in throughout the game, but this is still a great weapon if you use it right. I'll show you the many uses of this gun, the challenges for it, and each attachment. At the end of this guide, you will know everything about it.

For other tips and guides, go to the Titanfall Guide List.

This guide will cover everything about the Longbow-DMR Sniper including:

  • Weapon Basics - The stats and general info on the gun.
  • Attachments - Each attachment and what they do.
  • Mods - Each mod and what they do.
  • Challenges - List of every challenge for this gun.

Weapon Basics - Get to know your Longbow-DMR Sniper

This sniper is great. It has high damage and can fire quickly from long-range. That's perfect for sniping in this game because of how fast-paced it is.

  • It fires up to 8 shots by default before you have to reload.
  • You only need 2-3 shots to take down a Pilot, less if you get a headshot.
  • Pretty decent for taking out Titans after you rodeo them.

Attachments - Choose Your Scope

6x Zoom Scope

Use this when you need snipe across the map. No other scope gets the range this one has. With the right location, you can snipe pretty much anything on the map with the 6x zoom scope.

  • Longest scope range.
  • Great for sniping long distances.
  • Not good for people getting close to you.

AOG

AOG stands for Advanced Optical Gunsight. This scope has a 2.4x zoom scope. It is a short-range for a sniper, but still shoots pretty far.

  • Shortest scope range.
  • Great for closer fights.
  • Best when moving constantly and killing many people in a short area/amount of time.
  • Still good for sniping. It has a shorter range, but can still reach most targets.

4.5x Zoom Scope

My personal favorite. Great balance between the short-range AOG and the long-range 6x Zoom Scope.

  • Medium-Long scope range.
  • Great versatility. It is able to shoot far distances, while still letting you see people approaching you.
  • Good in nearly every situation.

Mods - Customize Your Sniper

Extended Magazine

The best overall mod for this gun. It adds 4 shots before reloading, giving a total of 12 shots per magazine. This gives you more room for error and plenty of ammo to take down multiple people before reloading.

Suppressor

This lowers the overall damage, but you will not show up on enemy minimaps when firing. It also reduces the noise and muzzle flash of the gun. Decent when you want to go unnoticed during an objective-based game.

Stabilizer

Not that great honestly. This is a fast gun and a fast-paced game. This steadies the aim when you want to fire. You don't need it though, since it fires multiple shots quickly. The extra ammo per magazine is a better choice.

Challenges - Become an expert Sniper

There are 6 categories of challenges for the Longbow-DMR Sniper, each with multiple tiers to complete.

If It Moves

This category involves killing enemies. This means any enemy, such as a Pilot, Grunt, Spectre, or Titan. As long as you kill something with it, it counts towards completing this challenge.

Killing 10 enemies unlocks the Suppressor mod. Killing 25 unlocks the 4.5x Zoom Scope. The rest of the tiers give you experience and Amped DMR burn cards. For more info on burn cards, check out the Weapon Burn Cards Guide.

Top Gun

These require you to kill actual players, the Pilots. 5 Pilot kills unlocks the Stabilizer mod. The rest give experience and Amped DMR burn cards.

Machine War

Spectre kills, the robot minions, count towards these challenges. Killing 5 Spectres unlocks the Extended Magazine mod.

The Expendables

This category is all about killing Grunts. 5 Grunt kills unlocks the AOG scope.

This Is My Weapon

Just using the gun for certain periods of time completes these challenges. They give experience and Amped DMR burn cards.

Off The Dome

This category requires you to get headshots with this gun. Like the previous category, these challenges give experience and burn cards.
