Lots of new goodies were shown during Minecraft Live 2023, some being more exciting than others. The Mob Vote 2023 winner was revealed to be the Armadillo, and a particular new crafting station will be coming along with it. The Crafter is its name, and crafting is its game. Obviously. This unique crafting station will work unlike anything you’ve seen in the game yet, so let’s answer the question: What will the Crafter do in Minecraft?
What Will the Crafter Do in Minecraft?
Why craft things yourself when you can get a crafting station to do it for you? That’s the real question because the Crafter is going to change the game for Survival players.
It’s a long time coming, but the Crafter will allow you to automatically and repeatedly craft the same item time and time again, provided it still has the materials. You’ll be able to place a Crafter, input the materials for the crafting recipe of your choosing, and let it dispense whatever you set it to make. The applications for such a time-saving station are limitless, particularly if you’re tired of having to make the same things over and over when friends join you on your server.

When Will the Crafter Be Added to Minecraft?
Unfortunately, we have a while to wait until we’ll see the Crafter in-game. This particularly enticing crafting station, as well as the Armadillo everyone is waiting for, won’t be released until patch 1.21.
Minecraft 1.21 doesn’t have a solid release date just yet, but Mojang did state that it would be coming in the middle of 2024. Considering the timing of last year’s Mob Vote and the release of 1.20 earlier this year, chances are 1.21 will see an early summer release. Still, the Crafter is an exciting prospect.
