Level Zero: Extraction is a new game similar to Escape from Tarkov that entered Early Access on Steam. One of its features is wipes, which will occur regularly moving forward. These signal the end of a period, like seasons in other games. So, here’s how wipes work in Level Zero: Extraction.
Level Zero: Extraction – How Wipes Work
Wipes reset your progress in-game, meaning that all your items and such will be gone. However, you can earn rewards, like cosmetics, that stay with you through these wipes. If you’ve played Escape from Tarkov, then this wipe system will be rather familiar. If you haven’t, then the thought of having your progress wiped regularly might bring about mixed feelings.
To earn the cosmetic rewards that you get to keep through wipes, you need to max out your reputation with all five traders when playing as a human for the mercenary cosmetic. For the alien cosmetic, you need to max out your level as an alien. After the wipe, you receive the skins that you’ve earned. Then, new skins become available to earn before the next wipe.
Level Zero: Extraction’s Wipe Schedule
As of writing this, the next wipe is estimated to be a month away. However, the developers have mentioned that the duration of the wipe may change based on feedback from the community in the meantime. This means that there currently isn’t a strictly set schedule for wipes. As a result, you’ll want to keep on top of news for LZE in order to watch for wipe dates, at least until the game settles into a set schedule through feedback and trial and error.
That covers how wipes work in Level Zero: Extraction and what we know about the wipe schedule right now. From here, check out our Level Zero: Extraction guide hub as we work to add content throughout the Early Access period.
