Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom (TotK) — Glory of the Zora Lightscale Trident Guide

Here's our guide to help you with Glory of the Zora and the Lightscale Trident in Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom.

The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom Glory of the Zora is a side quest that rewards a unique weapon: the Lightscale Trident. To get the Lightspear, you’ll need to acquire a bunch of materials first, then complete the quest. Here’s our complete guide to help you with the Glory of the Zora and get the Zelda: TotK Lightscale Trident.

How to Get the Glory of the Zora Quest

To get the TotK Glory of the Zora quest (and eventually the Lightspear), you’ll need to talk to Dento the Blacksmith in Zora’s Domain. The quest will only become available once you’ve finished the entirety of the Lanayru regional main quest. That means clearing the Water Temple and beating the boss there.

I personally found that opponent, Mucktorok, highly annoying, so good luck once you’re at this stage of the campaign! Here’s how to beat Mucktorok from our good friends at Destructoid.

Where to Find the Resource Items for the Totk Lightscale Trident

After you best the beast for the Glory of the Zora quest and Lightscale Trident reward, you’ll need the following materials. Some of these are easy to find, but others are rare and may make getting the Lightspear more difficult.

  • 5x Flint: This resource is easy enough to acquire. It has a chance to drop when you demolish regular ore deposits.
  • 3x Diamond: Diamonds are somewhat rare, since you need to find lustrous/precious ore nodes. These are the ones with a golden brown tinge to them. There are a few in the Sky region (i.e., mostly smaller floating islands). The chest in the Rock For Sale/Jochi-Ihiga Shrine also has a Diamond.
  • 1x Zora Spear: You only need one Zora Spear. Even a decayed weapon works to make the Lightspear. However, this might be a problem, as I’ll explain below.

Where to Find a Zora Spear in Tears of the Kingdom

Because of weapon degradation, there’s a good chance that even if you had a Zora Spear earlier, you probably used it, and it already broke. As such, by the time you’re doing the TotK Glory of the Zora quest, you might be hard-pressed to get another one.

As far as the Zora Spear locations are concerned, I know of a few potential sources:

  • Mired in Muck side quest (left image): At the Upland Zorana Skyview Tower, you’ll see an NPC named Bazz who’s stuck in sludge. To free him, you can either throw a Splash Fruit or Fuse an Opal onto your weapon before doing a regular attack. He’ll then give you a Zora Spear.
  • Ralis Pond chest (right image): It’s also possible to find a chest in Ralis Pond, which is due south of Upland Zorana or southwest of Zora’s Domain.
  • Lanayru Sky Archipelago/Water Temple enemies: A select few Construct enemies might be carrying decayed Zora Spears. If you’ve already taken them out, then you’d have to wait for the next Bloodmoon cycle for them to respawn.

Assuming you already have all the required items, go ahead and return to Dento. He’ll then make the TotK Lightscale Trident for you. It has a +22 attack rating, so it’s not the strongest weapon in Hyrule. However, it does match the theme if you’re using the full Zora Armor Set.

Another cool tidbit is that if the Lightspear ever breaks, you can just ask Dento to make another one for you. Of course, you’d need to bring the same materials again.

And that’s it! You’ve completed the Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom Glory of the Zora quest for the Lightscale Trident. For more tips and walkthroughs, visit our Zelda: TotK guides hub.
