Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom — How to Get Arrows in TotK

Need arrows in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom? Here's where to find them.

It wouldn’t be a Legend of Zelda game without the bow and arrow, and Tears of the Kingdom has tons of new ways to make your arrows effective. However, you need to have some for any of it to work. So where do you find them? Thankfully, there are almost as many ways to fill your arrows as there are to spend them. Here’s how to get arrows in TotK.

Where to Find Arrows in Tears of the Kingdom

I’ve found that there are more than a dozen ways to find arrows in Tears of the Kingdom. But the three best ways you’ll get arrows is by:

  • Buying them from merchants.
  • Finding them in boxes on the Sky Islands.
  • Picking them up from bow-wielding enemies.

The Best Way to Get Arrows in TotK

The best source of arrows in Tears of the Kingdom has to be the large boxes and barrels you’ll find on many Sky Islands. You’ll need something heavy and blunt to break them (I recommend a stick Fused with a rock), but most boxes drop at least three arrows and sometimes one or two bundles of them. Boxes also tend to come in pairs and are surrounded by smaller barrels, which also drop single arrows when broken.

Some traveling merchants, town vendors, and especially Beadle, who you’ll see at any stable in Hyrule, sell arrows in groups of five or one at a time. A single arrow is 6 Rupees, whereas a bundle of five is 20 Rupees.

I don’t recommend buying arrows unless you’re completely out or running low. Unless you’re over-ambitious with your arrows as both exploration and combat tools, you’ll find plenty as you explore. I managed to run out by trying to light up the Depths, but after a couple of hours exploring the surface of Hyrule, I had more than I knew what to do with again.

You can farm bow enemies for arrows. Until they’re defeated, they have an infinite supply. Just let them miss you, then pick up the arrow from the ground near your feet. Defeating them also tends to drop their bow and at least a few arrows, usually a bundle.

Lastly, it’s possible to pick up your own arrows if you have an idea of where they’ve landed. For example, you can grab your arrows after shooting something like the ramp rope in the Gutanbac Shrine.

There are additional sources of arrows in the game, like certain Shrines scattered about in caves, dungeons, and the like, but the three main ones presented here are the most consistent.
