EA’s most recent earnings call confirmed that Command & Conquer Remastered is still set to launch this June. It will not be impacted by the current COVID-19 pandemic.
Blake Jorgensen, EA COO and CFO, said that the developer and publisher still hasn’t overcome all of the challenges of working from home, but that the teams under the EA banner have done a fantastic job keeping titles on schedule.
Developing a game from home inevitably carries risks, and we haven’t yet solved all the problems, but, for example: we just had a very successful FIFA Ultimate Team birthday event; Apex Legends Season 5 is about to launch; and we expect the next Sims expansion and Command & Conquer Remastered to both launch in June as scheduled. Learnings from this period will forever change the way we work at EA.
Command & Conquer Remastered was announced earlier this year. It will include Command & Conquer Tiberium Dawn and Command & Conquer Red Alert, as well as the expansions Covert Operations, Counterstrike, and The Aftermath. The base package will release June 5 and cost $19.99.
C&C Remastered is currently available for pre-order on Steam and Origin. It features a map editor in both versions, as well as 4K graphics and a remastered soundtrack. The multiplayer has been improved over the original and the UI upgraded.
In celebration of Tiberian Dawn‘s 25th anniversary, EA also released limited special edition and collector’s edition for both games through Limited-Run Games. However, those versions are currently sold out.
